2. Links For Chemists / Virtual Library Chemistry Section
Maintained by the University of Liverpool, this free, searchable chemistry index carries in excess of 8,250 chemistry resources in over 75 chemical categories.
http://www.liv.ac.uk/Chemistry/Links/links.html
Links for Chemists is an index of over 8,000 Chemistry resources maintained at the University of Liverpool Department of Chemistry . The index features a collaborative effort to index University Chemistry Department websites, we provide the links to UK University Chemistry Department websites. For the industrial chemist we have a listing of well over 2000 Chemical Company websites and thousands of other useful chemical resources such as links to Chemistry journals and chemical society (ies). For the chemist in full time education there are pointers to hundreds of resources on atom (s), molecule (s), the periodic table of the elements and organic reaction mechanisms, these are also useful for educators In addition to links for the Chemist working in the traditional analytical, inorganic physical, organic and theoretical chemistry links, the index points to reference sites for those involved in related fields such as the pharmaceutical or petrochemical industries. There are also resources such as MSDS and safety sites which will be useful to workers in practically all industries. Your browser is not compatible with frames, but you can still access our index by clicking on one of the links below, choose your language...

The Internet Chemistry Resources list originated in 1992 as a supplementary resource that was designed by Joseph Warden at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for the undergraduate course, Chemical Information . Since instruction in chemical information is no longer offered regularly at Rensselaer, the resources required for timely updates of this site cannot be justified. The site maintainer appreciates the patronage and the many awards and kind comments proffered by the users of this resource during the past six years. This resource last modified on 22 January 1999.

    Atmospheric Chemistry Glossary
2002 Version The definitions in this glossary were initially generated by the students in a senior level class studying air quality and atmospheric chemistry at Sam Houston State University during the spring of 1995 in a course entitled Environmental Science 440/Chemistry 442, AIR QUALITY. In the main, they wrote these definitions as part of a class requirement. The references found at the end of most entries are an effort to supply additional resources for each of the terms. No supposition of comprehensiveness or absolute correctness can be assumed in any way. Many of the glossary entries have hypertext links to other sites on the InterNet. These external links were valid in the Spring semester of 2002 and are updated and augmented each year.
Click on a letter to find definitions that begin with that letter.
A B C D ... Z Here is an example of an entry. There is a link to another site on the InterNet for the entry itself: Photochemical Smog - Natural and artificially emitted hydrocarbons in the presence of oxides of nitrogen undergo photochemical reactions which produce a cloud of toxic chemicals including ozone and a variety of caustic agents. This process is powered by sunlight and some of the products, such as ozone, reach a peak soon after photon flux from the sun reaches a maximum around midday. The thermal inversions often associated with some cities can lead to a dangerous buildup of smog in urban areas. Human deaths have been attributed to photochemical smog since the Industrial Revolution in cities such as London and New York. [Science; v.241; p.1473; 1988.] [Atmospheric Environment. Part A, General Topics; v.26A; p.625; 1992.]

    WELCOME TO
Thanks for visiting! It's a new school year and we've got five interlinked sites. Right now you're on and at the bottom of each page you will find links to our other science sites that cover chemistry, geography, and physics. If you surf the site and get lost in all of the information, use the search function on the left side of the pages.
The best news is that we have just finished the new version KAPILI.COM . Kapili now has tutorials, an extensive library, experiments, over fifty activities, and downloads like flash cards and workbooks. Members have access to all of that information and they get to be a part of what new content we build. We are currently adding new science games and tutorials.
    OKAY! Let's start here...
So you're asking, what is CHEMISTRY ? Well... Here's our best definition. Chemistry is the study of MATTER and the changes that take place with that matter.
Don't ask us why that matters. It just does. A lot. Everything on Earth, everything in our solar system, everything in our galaxy, and everything in the universe is made up of matter. Matter is the name scientists have given to everything that you can touch, or see, or feel, or smell. Go take a look!
    Click and have fun!
