5-0 out of 5 stars My son's favorite series!
My 10 year old son loves Hank Zipzer, I do too. This book is great, very funny and so real you could just imagine your child as Hank. This book is one of our favorites in the series. They are all wonderful books, very entertaining and funny for both children and adults. My son really relates to Hank he has similar issues with reading and writing (Dyslexia), so for him the books are such a great moral boost. These books are written easy enough for my son to read, but yet so entertaining they do not seem too young for a 10 year old. We love them so much we bought a small set for my son's classroom and the school library. This is a series most boy's will relate too!

5-0 out of 5 stars hank zipzer the worlds best unichever!love it!!

4-0 out of 5 stars The Night I Flunked my Field Trip - Good Book
I liked how the author had the idea to make Hank lose his permission slip to go on the field trip with his friends.Because his mean teacher gave him only one hour to look for it.It was funny how the captain on the ship made them mop pee off the decks.

I think I liked, "Help I'm trapped in 4th grade" a little bit better.Because it had more funny parts.
Michael - age 10

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book series for 4th grade boys
These books are hilariously funny for 4th grade boys. I'm sure girls can read them too but girls have a dozen or so book series to chose from so this one's for the little guys. I have a difficult time getting my 9 year old to read on his own but with these book, he reads every night and begs for the next book.According to my son, get the first book and then any of the following books can be read in any order. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Another hit.
The more I read this series the more I love it. Few series could hold my attention past 3 or 4 books yet this one is doing an admirable job. Not only am I excited about reading the books I have not finished yet, I am looking forward to those not yet published. Henry Winkler and Lin Oliver do an amazing job of capturing the angst, struggles and feelings of a young student struggling with a learning disability. I have said it before but reading parts of these books is like reading segments from my own childhood and my personal struggles with dyslexia.

In this segment of Hank's journey, the family is taking a road trip over the Christmas Holidays. Each member gets to choose a stop along the way. Hank's father, Stanley, started it all by wanting to go to the National Crossword championship. His mother, Randi, chose an organic bee farm; his sister a science museum, and Hank chose a roller coaster park. It looked like it would be a great vacation. Then on the last day of school he is handed a homework pack to help give him an advantage after the break. Once his father finds out about it, Hank's problems begin; he must complete it or he cannot go to the roller coaster park. But vacation and travel and hotels are so much fun he keeps putting it off, then he accidentally leaves it behind at one of the hotels. Hank tries to jump through all kinds of hoops to keep his parents from knowing he lost the package but in the end realized, maybe too late, that the truth is always the best plan.

This is another great book in an awesome series.

5-0 out of 5 stars * year old loved it
Got this for my 8 year old grand daughter . We read it to together and laughed all the way through it. Excellent for road trips.

5-0 out of 5 stars Are we there yet?
How would you feel if you couldn't go to a place that you have been dying to go to all your life just because of an incomplete homework packet? Wouldn't you think it was unfair? Well in the book Hank Zipzer, Barfing in The Backseat, is exactly what Hank does as he struggles with this problem. His teacher gave him a homework packet because Hank has a learning disability and doesn't want him to forget anything over his spring break. His dad finds out about the packet and tells him if he doesn't get the packet done before they get to the amusement park, Hank can't go. Hank was really furious. His sister Emily, who is the smart one, makes fun of Hank because she thinks he would not get it done. She thought that because she thought he was dumb. What will Hank do to try to get the packet done in time so he can go to the amusement park? Will he succeed and be happy?

Henry Winkler is a very good author. He writes many good books. This is one in the Hank Zipzer series. Barfing in The Backseat is one of the best books he has written. They are all well written.

I like this book because it reminds me of one of my friends who had a learning disability and it would take him a long time to complete things. This book helps me understand what my friend went through.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hank Zipzer, Help! Somebody get me out of 4th grade
How many ways are there to get out of parent/teacher conferences?
Hank Zipzer has to figure out at least one way, and quickly. He comes up with a very unconventional idea, which could backfire and get him into a lot of trouble.
The characters in the story are strong and lively, the communications and conversations funny and entertaining. Any fourth grader could easily relate to this hilarious story and the "cool" and "sassy" way the characters talk. I love the different black/white, what looks like done by children, illustrations in the chapter headers. A book that would make me want to read more of the Hank Zipzer books.

5-0 out of 5 stars more in a good kid series
my 11 yr old 5th gr daughter is a devoted Hank Zipzer fan; she these are quick easy reads for her, but very enjoyable; I even like when she reads out loud to me; they help her better understand her Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) & learning disabilities (LD) in a fun way; Henry Winkler turned his negative childhood experiences into a positive thing for his children & ours

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Fun
This series gets better and better. In this adventure, Hank sneaks a peak at the teacher's register and sees 'redo' beside his name. Now he is panicked; he is going to have to repeat the fourth grade, and be in the same class as his brilliant younger sister. But rather than asking adults he trusts to help him figure this out, he devises his own plan. His plan includes getting his parents out of town so they will miss his Parent Teacher Interview.

His plan is elaborate. First he needs to forget the slip two days in a row. And he wins a trip for them to Philadelphia to catch a Rock concert. Now his mother wants to rock, but his father who collects mechanical pencils and does crosswords, has no interest. Will he get them to Philly? Will they miss the parent teacher interview? Will he make it out of the 4th Grade? Read this wonderful story to find out.

I have said it before but as someone with Dyslexia these books are eerily haunting. It is like reading a piece about my own childhood - my struggles, failures and successes. These books are meant for a younger audience but they are great for anyone who struggled with learning difficulties, even if diagnosed as an adult or university student. They are also great fun for a family to read together, or for those who know people with these special needs.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully Funny
It's the end of the school year and Hank Zipzer is back in trouble again. Not only did he get three D's on his report card, he managed to get the whole report card mixed into a sample batch of his mother's soy salami. Oh me, oh my, what a pickle for Hank and for his mother's deli The Crunch Pickle. At first Hank does not think this is such a bad thing because he believes the batch of Salami is bound for the garbage can, but then he discovers it is heading to a tasting for an owner of a grocery chain. Salami full of report card cannot taste very good. He has to do something but does not know what.

In this book Hank is diagnosed with learning challenges. He also admits it to himself and others. It is also the beginning of a plan to develop strategies to help him overcome his disability. This is another great adventure for the Zipzer, and will be for you and your children also.
