Product Description
Many of the most common symptoms and illnesses that plague us today - anything from fatigue, bloating, and weight gain to prostate problems, arthritis, allergies, depression and multiple sclerosis - can be traced back to a surprising source. Yeast. Yeast and fungal overgrowth - called candida - is pandemic and affects millions. One out of three people suffer from candida overgrowth, which is associated with asthma, allergies, hypoglycemia/diabetes, hypothyroid, prostatitis, weight gain, brain fog and anxiety/depression. In a chronic state yeast overgrowth can also lead to conditions such as lupus, MS, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, autism, and even cancer. The Candida Cure is the most current and concise book on this subject, designed to help millions understand and overcome candida overgrowth. This practical and revealing work describes what candida is and how it can become out of balance as a result of using antibiotics, steroids, hormone replacement therapy, and chemotherapy as well as unmanaged stress levels and diets filled with sugar (white flour, dairy, refined sugar, and alcohol). The first three chapters describe what candida is, how disease starts in the gastrointestinal tract, and how poor nutrition adversely affects candida overgrowth. It also includes a candida health questionnaire. The remaining chapters lay out a 90-day program for beating candida and restoring vibrant health. Diet, detoxification, and supplementation are covered in detail. User-friendly charts, recipes, meal ideas, and sample menus are included to make the program simple and effective. ... Read more

noneed to buy it and wait - google candida curenow.

5-0 out of 5 stars If they can't figure out what's wrong with you this is probably it!
I was referred to this book by a natural doctor who thought I may have this problem. It turned out that not only did I have a virus that wouldn't go away but that I had candida as well as my husband. Since then I have come across many other people I referred this book to. If you follow the diet, which she makes very easy to do, you will feel better, even if you don't have candida. It's just good eating. Ann uses all she has been through to help others with thier health in a simple and easy formate. Seriously you really don't have to read a lot. Most of the book is recipies. My book is completely worn because I have referred back to it so many time. Keep it up ANN!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Informative
I am totally new to this whole yeast thing. This book provided me with easy to understand info and recipes to get me started on this diet. I have read quite a few other yeast books and this one is still by far my go to book.. ... Read more

Product Description

From the reviews: ''... a fascinating book to read... There is not to my knowledge any other book that collects this content in one place...'' (Ray C.F. Jones, Chemistry World, March, 2009).

This book is an introduction to the chemistry of fungal metabolites. The aim is to illustrate within the context of fungal metabolites, the historical progression from chemical to spectroscopic methods of structure elucidation, the development in biosynthetic studies from establishing sequences and mechanisms to chemical enzymology and genetics and the increasing understanding of the biological roles of natural products.

The book begins with a historical introduction followed by a description of the general chemical features which contribute to the growth of fungi. There are many thousands of fungal metabolites whose structures are known and the book does not aim to list them all as there are databases to fulfill this role. The book's aim is to describe some of the more important metabolites classified according to their biosynthetic origin. Biosynthesis provides a unifying feature underlying the diverse structures of fungal metabolites and the chapters covering this area begin with a general outline of the relevant biosynthetic pathway before presenting a detailed description of particular metabolites. Investigations into these biosyntheses have utilized many subtle isotopic labelling experiments and compounds that are fungal pigments and those which are distinctive metabolites of the more conspicuous Basidiomycetes are treated separately. Many fungal metabolites are involved in the interactions of fungi with plants and others are toxic to man and some of these are described in further chapters. Fungi have the ability to transform chemicals in ways which can complement conventional reactions and the use of fungi as reagents forms the subject of the final chapter.

Detailing current research on grass endophytes, this work presents procedures for isolation, inoculation, fungus and plant tissue culturing, staining and molecular methodology. Chapters on the ecology of grass hosts document the benefits of endophytes to grass hosts and discuss this topic in terms of a mathematical model. Chemical constituents of infected grasses and methods to alleviate toxic effects are identified. The current use of endophytes to increase plant hardiness in turf and forage grasses is explained. Techniques for screening and selecting endophytes and for genetic modification of endophytes are described. The text discusses the impact of endophyte-infected grasses on the environment, looks at the response of endophyte-infected grasses and grasslands to increased atmospheric CO2 and radiation, and provides techniques and procedures for studying endophytes. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Nice Pictures
This book is an introduction and guide to mushroom identification geared towards British readers. It begins with 6 short chapters that provide a general introduction to the subject, covering fungi and man, nature and naming of fungi, amateur mycology, collection and identification of fungi, ecology and habits of fungi, and classification of fungi. At the end of this section are two keys for identification, one focusing on spore color and the other on microscopic characteristics. The remainder of the book is organized according to the first key, with separate chapters for each group of fungi. Within this section, individual species receive a short textual description, about a paragraph in length. The descriptions generally include information about where the fungus can be found, size, shape, smell, and taste.

The descriptions refer to the color plates featuring watercolors by Beatrix Potter, who was an avid amateur mycologist in her day.Indeed, Findlay notes in the introductory material that Potter painted these pictures with the hope of someday illustrating a reference book such as this one, but never managed to complete the project herself. Findlay was so taken with the illustrations that he determined to use them in this book so that they could be appreciated by a wider audience.Of course, not all of the species described in the book are illustrated, and Potter's collection of polypore illustrations was not as rich as her illustrations of mushrooms, so they are supplemented with black-and-white photos in the polypore chapter. End material for the book includes a bibliography, a glossary, and an index. ... Read more

Description:
The maintenance of soil health and productivity is a central aim of sustainable agriculture. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) are soil biota fundamental for soil fertility and plant nutrition, which may be used in the evaluation of the impact of agronomic practices on soil quality. In the present study we evaluated the influence of three different land uses on AMF populations and correlated glomalin-related soil protein (GRSP) content with AMF biomass parameters, such as spore density and biovolume. Among the differently managed sites - maize monoculture, grassland and poplar grove - maize soil showed the lowest AMF spore number and GRSP content. The same morphological taxa were found in the three sites, except for one additional morphotype in poplar grove. A good correlation between GRSP and spore biovolume was found, suggesting that GRSP may represent a useful biochemical parameter for the assessment of biological soil fertility in sustainable agriculture. ... 90. Cancer is a Fungus: A Revolution in Tumor Therapy

Product Description
Book describes how a fungous infection always forms the basis of every neoplastic formation, and this formation tries to spread within the whole organism without stopping. At the moment the constant, uniform, and implacable growth of a tumor is in no way affected by current oncological treatments. A recovery rate for cancer that fluctuates at around 7% is mentioned in the classical books and treatises in spite of all the tricks and distortion of statistics. After making the necessary corrections, this amounts to virtually nil. The rest is propaganda for orthodox oncology. On the basis of the scientific considerations in this book which demonstrate that cancer is caused by fungal masses (of the Candida type), sodium bicarbonate is the only useful remedy that is now available for healing the disease. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The Fungal Hypothesis
Dr. Simoncini is an Italian oncologist who believes that candida and cancer are always concurrent, and that sodium bicarbonate, administered through a catheter directly into the artery, is an effective treatment.Using this method, he claims an average success rate of 90%.

The book presents 18 clinical cases, along with documentation and before/after pictures. It IS a somewhat technical book, but it is written in such a way as to make it understandable to the general reader.I like the way he writes. He speaks sometimes of philosophy, and of our spiritual nature - things that are often overlooked in conventional medical treatments. He asks us to look beyond the present rigid scientific system.

This is a very thought-provoking and informative book on a promising new therapy.I'm not holding my breath waiting for the entrenched medical community to come around to his way of thinking, but there is always hope, I guess.Translated from the original Italian, I am grateful to Dr. Simoncini for making this book available in English. If you cannot find a copy of this book, you can do an internet search on the Doctor and find a good deal of helpful information.

4-0 out of 5 stars Difficult to read but worth the effort.
I have no problem believing that cancer can be cured with bicarbonate sodas as the author, Dr. Simoncini, states.A low Ph invites disease. It has long been proven that a raw food diet will cure cancer. The reason it works is because it raises the Ph to where the cancer will not survive. The bicarbonate soda does just that.It raises the Ph in the area of the cancerous cells. The cancer will return, however, if the person does not make necessary changes in their life including diet.We had to get our copy of this book from Italy. It needs to be sold here in the US.You can buy the book through Dr. Simoncini's web site for 39 Euros or $55.

5-0 out of 5 stars INFORMATIVE

Product Description
Fungi in the Ancient World: How Mushrooms, Mildews, Molds, and Yeast Shaped the Early Civilizations of Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Near East

Were ancient religions the product of hallucinogenic mushrooms?

Did mycotoxins cause the plague of Athens?

Did poisonous mushrooms kill the emperor?

Frank Dugan sifts the evidence, separates hype and hyperbole from factual and plausible events, and conclusively demonstrates that fungi have strongly influenced western civilization from its very beginnings.

Fungi in the ancient world included edible, poisonous and psychoactive mushrooms, potent yeasts for brewing and baking, and pathogens of plants, humans and animals. Fungi and their impacts were recorded in art, literature, folklore, and myth.

Fungi in the Ancient World is a comprehensive review on the impact of fungi in helping to shape ancient civilizations. Mushrooms, mildews, molds, and yeast had a surprisingly profound impact on: diet, custom, politics, religion; human, animal, plant health; art, folklore, and the beginnings of science. This insightful book is a gateway to current methodologies for investigation of the co-evolution of plants, fungi, and humans from the Neolithic to the Middle Ages.

This well documented book presents reproductions and descriptions of fungal motifs in ancient art, myth, and folklore that enable direct examination of evidence by any reader, professional or lay. Interdisciplinary in scope, this detailed and illustrated book includes a historical perspective on co-evolution of fungi with early agriculture that provides documented summaries of contemporary research in this area, from archaeology to molecular-genetics. It also delivers a historical perspective on the impact of fungi on human and animal health in early times, with examples of current methods used to assess historical impacts of mycotoxins, allergens, and pathogens. Translations and summaries from relevant ancient Greek, Roman, Sumerian and other texts are included, demonstrating how ancients themselves observed and recorded significant impacts of fungi.

Peer reviewed for accuracy and balance, the book provides multiple perspectives from professionals in mycology, plant pathology, ancient history, and folklore. It summarizes a wide range of highly controversial published views on the impact of fungi on customs, folklore, and religion. In doing this, the title presents perspectives on what is probable, plausible, or improbable in this highly debated area that helped form western civilization.

Fungi in the Ancient World will be of interest to mycologists, plant pathologists, historians, folklorists, plant breeders, anthropologists, ethnobotanists, ethnomycolgists, and others interested in fungi s impact to ancient history. Extensively referenced and indexed.
