Best Solution for NUVI in my Prius and my Ford: Theft Protection As Well!!, June 1, 2007
My Prius has a rough dashboard and a windshield that slopes very sharply. Thus, the suction cup mounts are not good solutions. Fortunately, the friction mount is a great solution. It works much better than I expected. Very stable, does not slide, and lets me adjust my Nuvi to a variety of different angles. I can place the GPS anywhere on the dash or even on the center console. Also works great when transferred to my wife's Ford.

Only downside to the device is that it has a rather large footprint, but not prohibitively large. I like the fact that I can easily use this in both of our family vehicles depending on where we need the GPS.

UPDATE: Now that I have used this mount regularly since May, I have to say this is the best mounting solution I've found for a GPS or any other device for my car. It hasn't slid out of place once!! Given the rise in GPS units being stolen from cars, this mount allows you to easily stash your GPS Unit and mount out of sight and then put it back into position with ease.

2009 Update: Still using this in my Prius and my wife has one too. It's held up quite well. It IS a bit bulky to store out of the way when not in use, but still a good solution. I usually remove my GPS from the mount (a simple process) and then place the mount as far under the seat as it will go. Not perfect, but the best solution I've found to date.

This mount works great. The selection of Garmin mounts is confusing as some are two parts and some are one. If you have a Nuvi with the included windshield mount, then this is the only part you need to buy. The included mount disassembles at the ball and socket joint and attaches to this one. I can't say it will never come off the dash if I do some really high speed maneuver, but so far it's held steady for all regular driving.

I like that it's easy to move the mount and gps unit down to the floor when I park. Yeah a thief could still see it if they came right up to my car but at least it's not obvious from halfway across the parking lot like a windshield mount is. A thief that sees an empty windshield mount is probably going to assume (correctly) that I've just put the unit in the glove compartment.

I have become addicted to my Garmin Nuvi 660 and used it for six months with a successful windshield mount. But now I have bought a new car. I discovered that the windshield suction mount left an ugly black ring on the window of my old car. (I assume I can get this cleaned up when I detail the car for selling.)

So no way was I going to put one of those on my beautiful new car. I tried the Garmin dashboard mount but shied away from the "permanent" disc. I found the "temporary" disc was just not up to the job of holding this device in place -- at least on my vehicle. I found this very frustrating. I read about the Portable Friction Mount, found a Best Buy store that had it in stock and ran out to buy it.

Though it is not terribly good looking, it does the job very well. I tried whipping around a few tight turns in parking lots and the whole thing stayed put. As another reviewer said, this lets you easily remove the thing and put it on the floor so it's not obvious. That may be more valuable than you would think. I know somebody who removed his Garmin Nuvi (and took it with him) but left the window mount in place. The car was broken into and the window mount alone was stolen. (Probably that was a pretty frustrated thief.)

Also, this will be easy to transfer to a rental car. And it will make it easy for my wife to borrow my Nuvi. Hmmm!

Stable but here's an easy improvement, June 26, 2007
While the friction mount on the bottom of the beanbag is pretty darn stable even with stops, starts, and turns I sometimes would find it sliding across the dash. The solution has been to use one of those little 6x4 inch mats sold at Radio Shack or Walmart for keeping cellphones on the dash. The mat is sticky on one side but leaves no marks or glue. I have not had one slide since using the mat. I even bring the mat with me in rental cars. This gives a very secure mount that is very easy to take from car to car.

The first time I tried this mount was in a rental car for a Garmin C530, and I never thought it would stay on the slightly sloping dash of the Pontiac Grand Prix but it held firm going up and down San Francisco's hilly roads. That prompted me to buy one for my car. Essentially this mount is a bean bag with a mouse pad like rubber base but its engineered to stay where you put it and not slide around unless you move it. The good thing is that it stays put even if you brake suddenly, and if you drive in bumper to bumper rush hour traffic like me every day you'll appreciate this even more!

The advantages are:
- No sticking on windshield. This is a BIG advantage as the windshield mount starts to come off easily after a year of usage, less if you leave it in your car while it's parked in the sun. There is nothing worse than your GPS sliding off while you're driving round a tricky bend, especially if you are new to the area. Sometimes it can be downright dangerous.
- The windshield mount also alerts thieves that a GPS is in the car. A friction mount can be placed down under the car seat when you leave the car without needing to disconnect anything so that you're ready to go quickly when you come back to the car.
- The other big advantage is the ability to move it around to the position you want it. If a passenger is sitting in your car you can just slide it to their side and they can input the information while you are driving. It also makes it easy to slide it closer to yourself. Since I have the Nuvi 660 I often make calls with the bluetooth feature while driving, it is easy to slide it towards me when I am speaking to someone in order to get better voice reception.

This mount works for all Nuvis as they have the "snap the ball in the joint". If you buy any model of Nuvi then this is all you need, no other adapter parts are needed. It's also easy to switch this mount between cars or move it to a rental car when you travel. It has been the best and most useful accessory I could buy for my Nuvi 660.

I purchased the Garmin Nuvi 350 to use for work since I travel quite a bit for my job. I was hesitant about buying the friction mount because I worried that it wouldn't stay put. I'm happy to report that I was wrong.

I recently used this friction mount with my Nuvi 350 on a long trip from NJ to Maine. Not only did it stay put exactly where I placed it on my dashboard for the entire trip, but it stayed put in a near accident. On one of the many highways we traveled, there was a car accident ahead and everyone in my lane slammed on the brakes. Now, mind you, we were all traveling at approximately 60-65 miles per hour. I'm most happy to report that we didn't collide with anyone. ---> Amazingly, the friction mount and my Nuvi didn't move an inch.

You can buy this friction mount with complete confidence. If it didn't move in the situation I was in, it won't move with normal driving. Not only that, but it is easy to remove and stow your friction mount and Nuvi without leaving evidence that you have a GPS (now a favored target for theives).

Slides easier as it ages, December 5, 2007
I've had this item for 3 months, and initially was very impressed with it's holding power on the dash. It's not magic - it will come off if you make a sudden turn or floor it from a stop light - but generally it stayed put, even through some *very* curvy roads in West Virginia at a "spirited" pace.

Over time, however, it seems to have absorbed the oils or possiblly Armor-All out of the dash (leaving a distinct dry spot on the dash in the shape of the mount), which has impacted it's performance. It still generally stays put, but takes much less aggressive a maneuver to make it move. I am currently trying different cleaners to try to reclaim some of the original grip.

As mentioned many times, the ability to remove it from the car, put it on the floor, move it to different cars, etc. is very nice. I would buy it again.

I justed pulled my Nuvi 660 off the window attachment, the ball just popped right out, then pushed it onto this ball. It works great, even has a lock/unlock, so you can slide the GPS out of the base easily, or lock it into place. It's easy to move the GPS to get just the right angle but it stays put once It's how I like it. I don't have too much trouble with the unit sliding around. I have a large, flat dash and if it were going anywhere, there's nothing to stop it, but it stays where I put it(I'm not a speeder and don't take turns sharper than I have to). As I live in California where I can't use the window attachment, I wish it would have come with this option. I wouldn't want to stick sticky tape on my leather dash. So far, I"m real happy with it.

UPDATE: After a month or so driving around with this thing on my dash, I'm as happy as ever. It hasn't moved at all, over pumps, up or down really steep hills, even with the power cord pulling on it (as I have it plugged into my cigarette lighter all the time). It's light enough and small enough to move easily and tuck away, it doesn't get in the way at all when I'm driving. I think it's perfect and I love it.

Although I was skeptical, this holds onto the dash in both my Highlander and RX300. The ball attached directly to the mount that came with my Nuvi 360. No other kits were required.

As one of the other reviewers stated, it is unclear whether certain Garmin GPS units require one or more additional parts for the portable mounts. This portable friction mount works perfectly with the Garmin Nuvi 660 -- you do need the bracket that holds the GPS unit from the suction cup mount that ships with the Nuvi 660. Just remove it and snap it on to the ball of the friction mount.

The mount itself works perfectly -- my GPS stays put in typical California driving (which has included a few sudden braking maneuvers at rush hour). Excellent solution for those who want to be able to use the GPS in multiple vehicles.

It's easy to move the GPS to get just the right angle but it stays put once It's how I like it. I don't have too much trouble with the unit sliding around. I have a large, flat dash and if it were going anywhere, there's nothing to stop it, but it stays where I put it(I'm not a speeder and don't take turns sharper than I have to). As I live in California where I can't use the window attachment, I wish it would have come with this option. I wouldn't want to stick sticky tape on my leather dash. So far, I"m real happy with it.

UPDATE: After a month or so driving around with this thing on my dash, I'm as happy as ever. It hasn't moved at all, over pumps, up or down really steep hills, even with the power cord pulling on it (as I have it plugged into my cigarette lighter all the time). It's light enough and small enough to move easily and tuck away, it doesn't get in the way at all when I'm driving. I think it's perfect and I love it.

As one of the other reviewers stated, it is unclear whether certain Garmin GPS units require one or more additional parts for the portable mounts. This portable friction mount works perfectly with the Garmin Nuvi 660 -- you do need the bracket that holds the GPS unit from the suction cup mount that ships with the Nuvi 660. Just remove it and snap it on to the ball of the friction mount.

Disappointing quality, December 16, 2007
I don't understand all the glowing reviews for this case: based on the many four and five star ratings given by other owners, I figured it was a no-brainer and placed my order.

When it arrived, I was surprised to discover that the leather is coarse and thin and that there is no real padding for the Nuvi.

Basically, this is two pieces of hard plastic over which some low-grade leather has been stretched. The best thing I can say about it is that it fits the 650 snugly -- at least initially -- which is important, as one end of the case remains open (providing easy access to the headphone port and SD card slot, as well as a potential avenue for the carelessly handled Nuvi to slip out).

Do not look for a belt clip or carry strap option, either. This is simple protection of the most basic sort.

I do not expect this case to wear well; it just isn't constructed for regular daily use.

Given the price and quality of the Nuvi 600s, I expected better in a case.

BTW, shame on Garmin for not including even some flimsy basic protection like this in the box with the 650!

Unless it is important to you to get something with the Garmin name on it, I would advise shopping for a more durable and protective alternative to this case.

I bought this case from my Nuvi 760, I would buy it again.

Pros
+ reinfoced front and back makes for a sturdy case that protects the device from both scratches and impacts
+ very snug but easy to get in and out - hasn't ever slipped out
+ good size, it is about as small as it can be
+ soft interior to prevent scratches
+ small sleeve on the side

Cons
- It is snug enough to sometimes slide the power switch on the 760 as I take it in or out. I need to make sure it goes in with the switch down and locked so it doesn't come on when I put it in. Coming on on the way out isn't such a big deal since I usually want to use it.

Overall this is a great case, if you are careful you could call auto-power-on a feature!

i just picked up one of these for a nuvi 750 as the case is listed as compatible on the garmin site. stylish looking case however, the 700 series is thinner then 600 series. if you hold the case upside down, the nuvi will fall out. be caareful.

First a comment on some previous reviews - This is not a high tech item, it's a protective case. Don't try to make more of it than that.

Now for my thoughts.
1) It fits my NUVI 750 like a glove.
2) The quality of construction is at least as good as any other case I've seen on the market. It also is aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
3) It slips into my shirt pocket with ease.
4) I realize that is not a form of structural armor for my device and that I still must exercise a certain amount of care to keep my NUVI from harm. It's not waterproof, fireproof, bombproof etc. It does keep my screen clean, prevents case scratches, protects it from the usual hazards of being knocked about in the console of my vehicle where it resides when not in use.

To summarize. It does what it is designed to do at a reasonable price.
Therefore it rates the 5 stars in my book.

The Nuvi 250w did not come with a case so I ordered this one. It fits perfectly. The whole 200w series is the same size so any of them will fit.

It's a little expensive but it's a lot cheaper then replacing a cracked screen.

This case came with my Nuvi 660. It is well worth having the case for storage in a glove box so that other items do not scratch the screen. There is a soft liner on the inside of the case. It's also a great way to protect your Nuvi if it is dropped. This is also great for the lady that wants to put it in her purse to use show off photos of your kids and grandkids to her friends.

I ordered this case for my Garmin 200W. It works great, nice case - quality construction. I would not recommend this case for any 'rugged' applications. A hard shell case would probably be much better. But this case will suit the needs of most average consumers. It is durable and can be put in a bag or purse. My only complaint is I wish it had a closure tab or strap to give it extra security for the GPS to not slip out but I've not had any problems. Nice basic protective case.

This case has a semi-rigid cover and some elastic nice straps inside to hold your 3.5" or 4.3" GPS in place. The only minor drawback is that I expected the inside of the case to be a little more "plush" and soft. But it's not worth subtracting a star. It's a good buy.

This case is exactly what we wanted. The 4.3" 255w garmin fits in great along with the charger. Make sure you store you garmin face down in the case so that it is protected, especially if you store the charger in the case as well. With the charger in the case, it is a tight fit, but that is good so that nothing moves around gets scratched or broken. It is not so tight you have to force it shut. I would highly recommend this. Plus the black case has a dull shine so its easy to hide in your car, to keep unwelcomed eyes away.

I don't understand why anyone would be negative about this case unless you paid at least twice the price. For 5 bucks you can't find anything better, in my opinion. It fits a 4.3 unit perfectly and provides good protection. If you are going to be rough and tumble with it then spend more money and get something heavier and thicker, but for average use it serves its purpose.

Used this with a Garmin 265. Case is great but you really have to stuff any cords in that side pocket to make it a carry-all for everything. I bought this item for my Garmin 1350, which is my first GPS ever. I was attracted to the price. The whole thing cost me less than $8, which is a steal, when you think about it.

We have multiple cars, like most American households, and so we wanted something we can take with us and store in the glove department without scratching it up. We also wanted something we can put the charger in.

So the good things:

- price
- the leash (quite handy now when I think about it)

Can be improved things:

- black, really? can't do this in any other color?
- construction is a bit weak. I'm scared that it'll lose its shape in a couple of years.
- space. It's REALLY TIGHT in there. I would not put anything else but the charger and GPS in there, though there is a sleeve for memory cards. I would NOT put any in there - probably will crack them upon closure.

This is a nice cheap multi-purpose electronics holder. It expands to fit your device and is a good option if you like the flexibility of being able to use it eventually for a different GPS or other electronic device. The outside is stiff enough that it would take a good amount of pressure exerted on the case to damage any LCD screen inside. The sides and top are open, so this is not a good option if you're worried about collecting dust on a seldom-used device. The case expands to fit the device, and looks like it would comfortably fit devices that are up to 4.75 inches long and anywhere from 2.75 to 3.25 inches wide and .5 inches to .9 inches thick. The extra slot in front hardly opens and it would be hard to fit anything more than the shape and thickness of a few credit cards inside it. The "frustration-free packaging" is easy enough to work with that most people should be able to open it with just their hands. For the price and flexibility, it seems like a pretty good deal.

This screen protector, although it fits perfectly, does not work with the Garmin Nuvi 1350. According to an authority (my son) here is the likely reason it does not work. The Nuvi 1350 is a "resistive" screen type and therefore requires direct contact between a finger or touch device and the screen. The protector puts a shield that prevents this contact. The other type of screen -- a capacitive screen type -- found on some cell phones and other devices is not affected in this way. We demonstrated this by moving this screen protector to a capacitive display of a cell phone; it worked perfectly. I cannot say whether my observations are relevant for any other Garmin Nuvi device other than the 1350. But, buyer beware.

Item works flawless. I'm actually a pro at putting shields on electronics as I have done iphones, macbook pros, ps3, kindles.

More about this item:

1) Fits screen well.

2) It's glossy surface (although I would prefer matte instead because of glare, but it's fine)

3) if you know what your doing, no air bubbles on the first try.

4) when you touch the protector, it does leave finger prints but are easy to wipe off with any microfiber cloth (basically your eye glass cleaning cloth).

5) came with a really small microfiber (useless, get a decent size one from your eye glass dealer) and a small plastic thing for getting rid of air bubbles (which, I found useful for when making sure no bubbles were on at the edge of the protector.

All in all, I would recommend this to anyone. Great product.

This protector was easy to install, but be sure to read the instructions first and follow them correctly. It is also very clear and stays on after applied. I have a Garmin Nuvi 1300 and it does not cause any problems with the touchscreen properties. Overall, a great product.

I bought this item to protect my wife's on screen usage of her GPS. Since we often slide the GPS under the seat for protection, it protects the screen from getting dings on it. When I bought my first GPS, I didn't buy a screen protector and after a number of months of useage, I regretted not buying one.

It was fairly easy to place on my GPS, however, there is BOTH a back and a front cover sheet over the protector. The instructions are not very clear on the second cover sheet and it blends in well. Once I figured that out and got it off, I was all set. Works well. I suggest you read others comments as they are helpful during installation. Great value for the price ($0.85 with free shipping).

I don't see how anyone can mess this up putting it on. "Follow the directions!" Mine went on without a hitch and absolutely NO air bubbles on my Garmin Nuvi 265W. Very pleased with it. And yes, it does sharpen the image just a little. Highly recommend if you are always hiding your GPS in the car. Would also recommend getting a case for it. They are cheap insurance from scratching it. Protect your investment!

Could be better, but does the job., October 8, 2006
I purchased this cover to protect my 60cs and it does exactly what I had hoped. The cover is elastic on the back and has a rubber-like material on the sides and top which enables you to get a good grip on your GPS. The front of the cover is made of plastic which extends the length of the view screen as well as the buttons.

I do however, have some gripes about the cover. The plastic cover can make entering data with the rocker pad tedious because even though you are pressing the rocker one way, the plastic causes the rocker to respond another way. I would rather have seen a separate cover for the buttons that was a bit more pliable. Also, you have to take off the cover if you want to plug your GPS unit into your computer via the USB cable. An opening in the cover would have made this easier. Lastly, the cover does not work with the handlebar mount for the 60cs. I really wish that it would because it is on the handlebars of my bicycle that I need the most protection. Therefore, I also bought some plastic screen covers to attach to the front face of the GPS to prevent it from getting scratched. However, the plastic screen covers and this cover do not play well and I have found that the cover pulls the plastic screen covers off.

The 60cs is a big investment. Despite the flaws in the cover design, it is definitely worth the extra cost of buying this cover. And pick up some plastic screen covers as well.

Purchased this to protect my Garmin 60CSx and it works great. A snug fit and it is a nice second skin to an already rugged device.

I do have to make notice to some minor flaws. It is a little difficult to get the cover off for USB and battery access. I have also noticed that the stitching around the lanyard and belt clip knob is beginning to come loose. These are the areas that always get caught up when you have to take off the case to access the USB or battery compartments.

I went the extra step for protection and bought an Invisible Shield for the screen. In order to hook the GPS unit up to my bike I have to remove it from the Garmin case. I was wishing that Garmin would develop a carrier that would hold with the case still on the unit.

For the price you can't beat it. Any stitching problems I'll fix up myself.

Like others, I hate having to remove the case to access the USB Port, but this case has saved my 60Csx from damage twice. Once, I dropped it down a 60 foot cliff and it rolled harmlessly to a stop - no damage. Next, while ascending a steep trail with the GPS in my right hand and safety strap around my wrist, I lost my balance for a split second and grabbed a large sharp boulder for support. This resulted in a deep scratch about 3 inches long right on the face of the unit. I was really upset and thought for sure the glass screen itself must also be scratched. I removed the cover and to my surprise, the face was intact - not a single blemish. Needless to say this little mishap cost me $20 - for a new case. Get It!

I bought this case for my Garmin GPSMAP 60 CSX and it fits perfect! Some reviewers indicated a problem with pressing the buttons on the face of the 60 CSX, due to the see-thru cover over the buttons, however, I haven't found this to be a problem. The case is black and well made in typical Garmin fashion. It will definitely protect my $400 GPS, from scratches and falls. This is a "must have" for the Garmin 60 CSX.

A snug fitting case that offers protection fron scratches and nicks. You must remove it if you use the bike mount. Would prefer leather and snap instead of velcro closeure. The material is subject to tears , velcro sticks to everything.

Build quality is ok, similar in appearance and materials to what I have for my etrex legend. The plastic over the buttons is a little annoying, would have rather seen a cut out design around them. Where the etrex case comes with a belt clip built into the case, the 60Cx already comes with one built into the unit (it's removeable), so the case just has a cut out to allow it to work. Like other reviewers have said though, if you are already spending this much on the GPS unit, spend the $20 and protect it with the case.

If you're going to be spending the money on an expensive GPS, you'd be a fool not to spend the extra few bucks on a protective cover. I can't begin to count the number of times I've bumped, knocked, and dropped mine.

But it does come at the expense of being able to easily manipulate the rocker and buttons on the front of the unit. I've learned to be extra "firm" when pushing the buttons and a little more diligent when using the rocker, so it does OK.

Access to the USB and battery compartments isn't too difficult, but does pretty much require removing the case. That's easy enough, but if I have a lanyard attached to the GPS and fed through the protective case, it tends to get caught.

Some time ago I bought A neoprene Gilsson cover for my old 60CS. It had holes for the buttons and rocker panels, so it was easier to navigate through the menu options; however, it was bulkier and the screen cover seemed harder to read through. My conclusion was that every product of this type is going to have its drawbacks.

I'd recommend this product to anyone who buys a 60C/CS model--not so much because it's a phenomenal product, but because a few minor inconveniences are sure much easier to deal with than fixing/replacing a broken GPS.

When I first purchased my Nuvi 255W I tried connecting to my PC using a USB cable I already had that was for another GPS receiver. I was able to charge the Nuvi but I could not get my PC to recognize it and do updates to the unit. After receiving this cable I had no problems at all connecting and updating my Nuvi. Guess it goes to show that not all USB cables are the same.

This is just a USB to Mini-USB cable. If you have a digital camera, you probably have one of these laying around. This is not specific for the Garmin GPS.

This is just a standard usb "Mini-B plug" - I bought it alongside my Garmin Nuvi 1350T GPS, but I should have just waited. I already have two such wires, one that came with a digital camera and another with a hard drive.

If you are not sure if you have one or not, do your research into the different types of USB connectors and see if you have one that looks like a "Mini-B plug" - it could save you the price of this product.

That said, this wire is high quality and works well. I have kept mine and it will be useful to me. I just know I wouldn't have coughed up the cash for it if I had known then what I know now.

This cable was a life saver. It allowed me to update my Garmin Nuvi with the latest maps directly from the Garmin website. Much quicker and better than installing a CD and then downloading to device.

After comparing this cable to others in my collection, I think it may be a generic USB A-mini-B cable, which would be available for less from a good computer discount warehouse. I gave this one only 4 stars because the mini-B end will bend if the Garmin is moved while the cable has no slack. However, this may be a fault of the mini-B design and not the cable per se. Overall, I am well satisfied with this purchase.

I think the USB cable bring the Garmin to full capabilities. It is a MUST inorder to register and / update your GPS with the latest data as well as to do some "fun"stuff like changing vehicles to a lot of choiices.. Good buy .

Over the years I have found Case Logic to be a dependable, go to brand. Usually the folks there do a bang up job of designing and manufacturing durable, cost effective tools for my gear. When it comes to my new Case Logic GPS6, the product designers at Case Logic totally missed the boat on this one.

The manufacturer's website and many of the tron retailers boast a similar claim that this model will store 4.7" through 5.3" GPS units and their accessories. With dimensions of 6.2" x 2" x 4", there is no way this product can safely provide storage for both my Magellan Maestro 4700 and its car charger, etc;. At most, maybe a couple of SD cards could make the ride with my GPS system. Its a no brainer that this product is not the tool for people like me that switch back and forth from vehicles.

Case Logic loses style points for the installation of double zippers and the elastic extensions. The latter is to keep the case from opening all the way. The concave bottom takes up valuable interior storage space. Unusual for Case Logic gear, this product comes in as average at best. Definitely not the product for my Magellan and accessories. Perhaps its better suited for a large bodied portable hard drive.

Like other models before it, the GPS6 is made of molded EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) and sports an interior mesh pocket. On the outside, the faux perforated leather strip and satin finish nickel logo are okay touches. A removable wrist strap and microfiber cloth are also included. The manufacturer tags on to this product a 25 year warranty. Case Logic also boasts a better then usual, informative website. A toll free customer care number is available Monday through Friday 7am - 5pm MST.

Compared to other Case Logic products that I have purchased, the GPS6 case comes in as average at best. The main fault lies in what the designers forgot about. ACCESSORY STORAGE.

There is a piece of elastic that keeps the case from opening all the way....in fact, it almost keeps it from opening. You have to pry it open to get the navigation system out as the case only open an inch when fully unzipped. If you just cut the elastic, it's fine, and will open all the way. The case is also a bit bulky - I would have rather had the case that I use for my external hard drive as it isn't quite as bulky but still accomodates a 4.7 inch navigation system.

The product itself is excellent. Unfortunately it is the wrong choice for the Magellan 4700. The car power plug is large and doesn't fit well in the case. You need to use some squeeze force in order for the zipper to close. I am looking for the iConcepts medium hard case which has more depth. I use the smaller version for my Model 2000.

This was perfect for my Magellan RoadMate 5045- LM 5" GPS Navigator. It slips right in and protects the navigator from scratches and hard knocks. I wanted a case within a case to protect my navigator, so it wasn't loose in my Case Logic DCB-305 Camcorder Kit Bag and this works great. Nice molded exterior, mesh pockets for exta memory card w/adaptor, and a jersey interior.

I purchased this Case Logic GPS-6 case for my 4.7" Magellan 4700 unit and overall I am satisfied with it.

Positives: The case is good looking, very sturdy and comes with a couple of extras - a smooth, well-made strap and a microfiber cloth for cleaning the GPS screen. The inside of the case has a nice red interior and contains a built-in "net" that is presumably for the storage of GPS accessories.

Negatives: The case is a bit too large for just a 4.7" GPS. If you don't fill the case with other accessories, you can expect a lot of wasted, empty space making the case overly bulky. One potential problem I can see is that if the GPS isn't secured in the case, it could rattle around and possibly get damaged

I would only recommend this case if you can get it discounted (or free) as a "combo" deal with a GPS unit. Also, before you buy, check to see if your GPS unit comes with a padded slip case (the 4700 does) since that might be enough meet your needs.

This case definitively fits larger gps. The will move around a bit as the case is a little big. I put mine in the elastic pouch and it holds it well. It is semi hard so it helps limit damage. There is no extra space for you power adapter but that is not a big deal for me. I just wanted protection when I do air travel and need my device for ground transportation.
