is an out of print 1986 NASA publication edited by Nicholas M. Short, Sr. and Robert W. Blair, Jr. designed for use by the remote sensing science and educational communities to study landforms and landscapes. The core of this book is a gallery of space imagery consisting of 237 plates, each treating a geographic region where a particular landform theme is exemplified. Hydro Plus Survey Applied Fluvial Geomorphology Field Camp 14-18 July 1999 Approximately 26 geology students from all over the country took part in a unique learning experience this summer. Southern Oregon University sponsored an Applied Fluvial Geomorphology field camp in which students had the opportunity to work with agency hydrologists and fishery biologists to establish long term stream channel reference sites. This portion of the course centered on South Fork Little Butte Creek (SFLBC) mostly on private land. The Little Butte Watershed Council was instrumental in gaining support for the project from local landowners up and down SFLBC. On July 14th the Rogue River National Forest led a training session on various aspects of stream channel monitoring. Other cooperators were the Medford District BLM Medford Water Commission , and Oregon Water Resources Department Topics included the following:
    • measuring stream channel cross-sections.
    • taking longitudinal profiles.
    • conducting pebble counts.

Subject: geomorphology as a field of study
I have a question for everyone. What do you say to the geologists who claim that there is no longer a need for the study of geomorphology, that it is nothing more than physical geology? Our school is in the process of a semester conversion, and the geomorphology course was a casulty of the process. Geology dropped it, but I was successful in adding it to the geography curriculum. There seems to be no small degree of antipathy toward the subject among the geologists here on campus. So, I wondered how others have handled the question. Thanks, Paul R. Larson Paul R. Did you ever wonder if the basis for most religious revelation and the stories which are told might have derived from a real event? This web site is dedicated to the discovery of just that question. The photo to the right comes from the Hopi tribe of the Southwest. The tapestry depicts an ancient sky event, which caused a fire on the earth. This is part of the ceremony that remembers "The Water Serpents", which are the snake-like appendages projecting from the background of the sky. What natural phenomena could the ceremony of this ancient American People be remembering?
