Available in a host of different styles – distilled, ozonated, spring, mineral – the question regarding bottled water has evolved over the past decade from whether to drink bottled water at all to which bottled water to drink. Generally speaking, all styles and brands of bottled water are subject to federal, state and trade bottled water regulations – ensuring you of contaminant, pollutant free water regardless of your choice. So, the only real way to choose from the sea of bottled water styles and brands out there is to focus on the taste.
Purely based on reputation, distilled bottled water is often deemed “flat or “dull.” Spring bottled water absorbs minerals and trace elements, leaving it with anything from a “metallic” to “salty” taste. The taste of carbonated bottled water is dominated by the level of carbonation and has been described as “bracing,” “sharp” and “spritzy.”

Cholera and the Age of the Water Barons
Feb. 3, 2003 The explosive growth of three private water utility companies in the last 10 years has raised fears that mankind may be losing control of its most vital resource to a handful of monopolistic corporations. Analysts predict that within the next 15 years in Europe and North America, these companies will control of 65 percent to 75 percent of what are now public waterworks. FRANCE

Water Conservation When Utah became a state in 1896 it had 250,000 people. From that point, it took 79 years (1975) for our population to increase by one million people. It took 25 more years (year 2000) for the population to rise by another million. The next million people will be added in only 20 years. The State's growing population will challenge many of our water suppliers. Thus, Utah's citizens are encouraged to develop a water conservation ethic. Biozone's UltraPure™ Water Purifiers offer you the most powerful water purifying technology for the safest, purest water imaginable…at a price you can afford. Concerned about water quality?
If you discovered the UV Water Purifier site, then you already have concerns about safe drinking water. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has set standards for more than 80 contaminants that may occur in drinking water and pose a risk to human health especially for children, the elderly, or people with compromised immune systems caused by chemotherapy, HIV/AIDS, or steroid use. Chronic effects occur after people consume a high level of contaminants over many years causing cancer, liver and kidney problems, or reproductive dysfunctions. A relatively new threat to water quality but yet a vital one are nameless, faceless, odorless, and tasteless acts of bio-terrorism to your drinking water supply. UV water purifiers can kill germs, viruses, bacteria and chemical agents! Water filters and water purifiers are not created equally!

Ground Water of the United States. (source: USGS) What is arsenic?
Arsenic is a semi-metal, a member of the nitrogen family. It occurs naturally in the earth and in the seas. It is odorless and tasteless. Arsenic is an element (As) that occurs in the earth’s crust-rock, soil, all natural sources of exposure, or can be traced to deep water brines used to produce oil and natural gas. Consumption of food and water are the major sources of arsenic exposure for the majority of US citizens. People may also be exposed from industrial sources, as arsenic is used in semiconductor manufacturing, petroleum refining, wood preservatives, animal feed additives, and herbicides.
Arsenic can combine with other elements to form inorganic and organic arsenicals. In general, inorganic derivatives are regarded as more toxic than the organic forms. While food contains both inorganic and organic arsenicals, primarily inorganic forms are present in water. Exposure to arsenic at high levels poses serious health effects as it is a known human carcinogen. In addition, it has been reported to affect the vascular system in humans and has been associated with the development of diabetes. As compared to the Western part of the United States, it is relatively rare contaminant in Pennsylvania groundwater supplies. A recent survey by the U.S Geological Survey (USGS) found that arsenic exceeded 5 ppb in 5% of wells in Pennsylvania.

92. What's In The Water - Home Page
What's in the Water NEETF's Guide to consumerConfidence Reports on drinking water Quality.
http://www.waterqualityreports.org/
A stronger economic, societal and ecological future … through environmental learning There are few things are as important to our personal well-being as the water we drink. Water is one of our most direct connections to the natural world. Now, American consumers can get more information than ever before about the quality of our drinking water. Consumer Confidence Reports, sometimes called Water Quality Reports, must be prepared each year by water systems to explain what substances have been found in drinking water and whether the water is safe to drink.
This website provides consumers and professionals with supplementary information on Consumer Confidence Reports. The primary purpose is to inform and educate civic leaders, health professionals, environmental and consumer groups, journalists, and others to better understand the reports, and to be able to answer questions about a Consumer Confidence Report. This website is not intended to alarm citizens or make them feel that there are hidden dangers in their tap water. The United States is one of the few nations in the world that consistently enjoys high-quality drinking water from the tap. But no system is perfect and local differences in tap water quality can be significant.
