    Parent Recommendations for math tutors
May 2002 Hello, The math tutor for my daughter, age 12 , is planning a Summer Private Mathematics Enrichment Course. He will come to your house and the duration of the course is 6 weeks for two days each week. He has designed the course for 7th and 8th graders. His name is Brian Tucker 510-836-1722 and email at briantucker94612 AT yahoo.com. I recommend him highly. Karen May 2002 Paul Osborne currently tutors my daughter, a sophomore at Marin Academy, in geometry. He's young enough to be in touch with my teenager but old enough not be one himself. He's friendly, easy-going, and trustworthy. Best of all, he's actually inspired my daughter to do better in math, partly on account of his encouraging attitudeHe really has confidence in herbut also because she understands his explanations. He knows his math and he's gifted at working with kids with a range of abilities. He's the best tutor she's ever had. You can reach Paul at . Ramsay If anyone needs a kind, patient tutor for a student in math, physics, or computers, I recommend Jay Doane, PhD. Reach him at 415-206-1703 or at tutoring AT almery.com. Best, K WIllits

Sept 2002 Hi, I've been tutoring math and science for thirteen years. I have taught both at the high school and college levels, and have always had an interest in using the various sciences to understand the future development of society. In recent years I have been studying mathematics with an interest in making it accessible to more people, while also having it better serve the needs of 21st century technology and economic development. larens imanyuel larensi AT yahoo.com I am a math and physics major at UC Berkeley with over 6 years experience tutoring students in grades 4 through junior college in math and science. I specialize in building the skills and confidence that empower students to overcome past failures and get back on the road to success. For the accelerated student, I can prepare a course of study that will introduce him or her to the most advanced and interesting topics at the appropriate skill level. I am also available for AP test or final exam preparation. $20/hr for a single student, and even lower group rates!
