    • List of libraries and databases, maps, author-index, media-index.

This volume 7/8 enlists general BIBLIOGRAPHIES and didactic titles and offers a useful CATALOGUE OF AUDIOVISUAL MATERIALS. The book gives you a comprehensive list of the ADDRESSES of journals, newsletters, experts, women's initiatives, working groups, organisations, and archives. It encludes resources in the internet, e.g. World Wide Web (WWW). So the volume represents an important resource for you when you want to connect yourself to others, or when you are looking for experts, literature or audiovisual media. The concept of "development" (or "Third" World) here does not only designate the situation and options of women in the developing world and in the former "socialist" countries - -, but is extended to the situation of underprivileged women in western industrialised countries such as exiled women, "guest" workers, foreign and minority women and women in European "fringe" areas (country-women).

    Documentation / Bibliography, Part 2/3
This comprehensive bibliography and documentation represents a helpful reference book for everybody who wants to do women's or gender studies in respect to the regions of ASIA and OCEANIA or who wants to know more about aboriginal women and women's studies in AUSTRALIA. The publication covers amongst other topics women's work and women's movements in all the countries of these regions including references to publications on women in the Arab world and on "Women and Islam". The volume contains monographs, articles in contributed works and journals and so called grey literature, mostly published between 1970 and 1996 in English, German, Spanish, Portuguese and other languages. Its because of the very large number of references in English (and also other languages), that makes the documentation an invaluable source of information to academics, students and anyone interested and working in the field of Development Studies and/or Women's Studies even if she or he does not speak German. The bibliography is structured by regional, systematic and historical aspects so that it indirectly gives an overview about current research.
