The "Perfect Thanksgiving" is above all personal. It can be anything you want it to be: so traditional it makes you homesick, or so creative and nouvelle that it creates special new Thanksgiving memories for all who attend. Whatever your visions of the "Perfect Thanksgiving," we're here to help. Our Mix and Match guide will allow you to select the perfect recipes, from a variety of categories to make up your one perfect meal.

Pack 114's Library
Thanksgiving Crafts
Name Card Leaf Rubbings
Needed: Typing paper, Crayons, Scissors, Dry leaves, Guests' names
Ask children to help you make the name cards and seating arrangements for dinner. Have the children cut each piece of typing paper in fourths then fold each of those in half. Tell them to insert a leaf inside each and gently rub a crayon across the front. Provide them with a list of names to copy for place settings. And then, have the children place each name card at a table setting.
Thanksgiving Placemats
Needed: Construction paper, Scissors, Glue, Crayons, Pictures
Ask the children to make a placemat for every guest. Have the children think about things they know about every person and make a placemat specifically with someone in mind. If you have a newcomer, this gives children a chance to get to know them and makes that guest feel welcome in the process. They can use pictures from old books, magazines, and/or drawings.
Turkey Nut Bowls
From construction paper, cut out various colored feathers, a head (both a front and back view), and 2 wings (mirror images of each other). Cover a small margarine tub in brown construction paper. With the bowl serving as the turkey body, tape the wings, front face and feathers around the bowl. Tape the back side of the head to the inside of the bowl. Fill with nuts, candy corn, etc.

Thanksgiving Memories Tablecloth
By Wen Zientek-Sico Create a new and very special tradition in your family with a beautiful tablecloth composed of your family's names and their favorite memories to use and add to year after year. Supplies: plain colored tablecloth to fit your traditional Thanksgiving table
permanent fabric markers in fall colors Instructions: Have all of the members of the family gather. Let each claim a space; spaces should be relatively small, but should be spread out all over the tablecloth to allow room for future memories and family members to be added later. Have each person sign their name and share their favorite memory for that year. Make sure to also have everyone date the memory. Use the tablecloth for Thanksgiving dinner, and every year have everyone add a new memory to the tablecloth near their name. Do you have a favorite recipe, craft or activity you would like to share with other iGrandparents' members? If so, please send it in.

Thanksgiving Napkin Rings
By Wen Zientek-Sico While commercial napkin rings or even ornately folded napkins may be suitable for some celebrations, our charming handmade napkin rings are simple, and in many cases elegant enough even for formal occasions. All of the materials below can be found around the house, in the woods, or in your favorite craft store. Napkin Ring #1
This napkin ring consists of a simple arrangement of artificial leaves glued to raffia. Simply cut three 6-inch lengths of raffia in a complementary color to your table setting, napkins, and leaves. Twist the raffia together and tie the ends into a knot to prevent it from unraveling. Glue an assortment of artificial or natural leaves to the raffia, making sure to center them. Let the glue dry for at least 1 hour. We folded our napkin into quarters, and then into thirds to form an elongated diamond shape. Tie the raffia around the folded napkin firmly, but leave plenty of slack so as not to interrupt the straight lines of the napkin's shape. Napkin Ring #2
Celebrate a natural harvest theme with this simple napkin ring. We used a white linen napkin and a floral pick with faux pinecones, acorns, and fruit to make this elegant napkin arrangement. Open your napkin and place it on your work surface. Grab it in the center and loosely gather it together. Wrap the floral pick's wire around the napkin to hold the loose gather.
