    Latin
Latina Christiana is geared toward younger students. In Level I, it explains the first three declensions and present, preterite and future verb conjugations. The teacher’s guide is essential. There's nothing wrong with this program, it's just not as extensive as the other two. I would recommend this for someone who wants a taste of Latin, but doesn't necessarily care to master the language.
    Artes Latinae
is very expensive, but it’s the best. It uses a method of very tiny increments to teach. Good built-in review.
Latin is Fun , from AMSCO, follows the same methodology as the other "FUN" books. I liked the fact that this book is a workbook. Writing is an essential part to learning a language. The vocabulary offered is good. The grammar is introduced slowly, and is
KONOS Latin is included with Highschool History of the World Vl. II, when the middle Ages and Rome are studied. It’s not supposed to be a complete Latin program and it’s not. A useful primer, though.
    History
KONOS History of the World was my history program in 9th and 10th grade. It is not a text book, rather a weekly guide for studying history. There are 10-30 activities each week. You choose how many you want to do. Instead of imparting perconceived biases onto the student, which a textbook will inevitably do, KONOS gives helpful direction. Most of the information is obtained from library books and the encyclopedia. As with anything in life, you get out what you put in. This course is flexible. For some, it could be an unschooling “curriculum,” and for others, a strict, day by day lesson plan.

This series of educational kits for 4th to 6th graders features women scientists actively engaged in their work. The kits combine personal insights from scientists with hands-on activities for students. The idea is for students to do science the way scientists do. This makes the learning experience effective and fun. Wonderwise kits use multiple technologies to teach science. The kits include a video profile and a written biography of the scientist, classroom activities, a CD-ROM resource, and special supplies necessary to complete the Wonderwise activities. Aerodynamics in Sports
I chose this site because it meets the subject content need in both math and science areas. Provides hand-on activities dealing with the principles of aerodynamics. These activities and lessons include problem solving and critical thinking skills. The different principles are introduced using sports and how aerodynamics effects tennis balls, golf balls, baseballs, frisbees, race cars etc... These examples are real life and tangible which allows the children to apply them to the abstract ideas of aerodynamics. Well done lessons that could easily fit into math or science. ED 312: Literacy Development in the Classroom. As part of this class I tutored in a 2nd grade classroom at Parkwood UpJohn Elementary in Kalamazoo Public Schools. I worked with 3 or 4 students a week for a 2 hour time period. During those 2 hours I listened to students read, read with them, read to them, and worked on developing their vocabulary and grammar. During this class I also wrote and illustrated two of my own books for a 2nd grade classroom. In class we performed 3 bookshares with a partner and completed a unit plan for the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin.
ED 310: During this class we discussed many topics such as how to setup a classroom, classroom management techniques, accomodating gifted students and special needs students, what characteristics an expert teacher has and testing and evaluating students. I incorporated all these ideas into my teaching philosophy. I also planned and taught a lesson on rainbows for a middle school level.
ED 351: During this class we primarily create activities to teach children in the primary grades about reading. I am also tutoring in a first grade classroom. I work with 2 students for a half hour each week on developing their letters and reading skills.
