Metro Kids Care plays an important role in shaping the lives and enhancing the development of children enrolled in the district's before and after school care program. Service is provided to district families on a daily basis throughout the year except for weekends, legal holidays and inclement weather days . Hours of operation begin at 6:30 AM and end at 5:45 PM. A variety of activities are planned each day which teach children about the importance of making wise choices instead of facing the consequences of a bad decision. Opportunities to complete homework, play board games, draw a picture, read a book, make a craft or participate in more active games help children learn to use their creativity, share thoughts and practice skills learned in the classroom. District guidelines are followed in regard to zero tolerance for violence, fighting, weapons and sexual harassment . Staff must meet district and state requirement for training in safety, health and developmentally appropriate practices. Parents and guardians are able to go to work or attend school each day knowing that their children are in a warm, caring and safe environment where they can relax and be with their friends. That’s what kids all over the country are debating as they enter the 2002 Kids Philosophy Slam contest. What is a Philosopy Slam? The Kids Philosophy Slam is an annual competition open to all kids first through 12th grade. In it, kids choose one answer to a philosophical question, one that focuses on very basic but important issues in human nature. Depending on their age, kids can express themselves in words or art or both, and each grade has a winner. The school that submits the most overall entries with the best overall scores will win the title of "the most philosophical school in America." Kids Philosophy Slam founder John Davis Starting the Slam John Davis founded the Kids Philosophy Slam in 2000 to make philosophy interesting and fun for kids. Davis said the idea of the Kids Philosophy Slam is to get kids to think independently and to look at their personal experiences for answers. "There is no pure right or wrong answer," Davis said.

A New Denomination
Founded in 1973 by believers who felt strongly the need for a scriptural, evangelical and reformed witness for Christ. These believers felt that evangelism, Christian education and training should be the top priorities of the church. Many churches separated from their denominations because they believed the basic Christian doctrines were being compromised. Desert Springs is a member of North American Presbyterian and Reformed Churches and the National Association of Evangelicals. Current membership in PCA churches is about 300,000. A Scriptural Denomination The PCA believes in the "Presbyterian " form of church government as the most scriptural. Local churches are governed by "presbyters" or Elders. Teaching elders are Pastors and Ruling Elders are ordained laymen. The Elders make up the Session, which is the governing body of the local church. The Elders are elected by the congregation.

"Hands On: Crafts for Kids" is all about celebrating the creativity of our children through three important elements . . Creativity through crafts is a wonderful way to express yourself and build self-esteem. Children can be successful through craft projects designed just for them and learn that there is no right or wrong way to be creative. Learning can take place through well-designed, curriculum-based creative projects like those presented in Hands On: Crafts for Kids. Our educational review board has established a theme for each television program, themes which are supported throughout our materials. While exploring their creativity, kids also explore recycling, weather, folklore and many other topics. All kids are creative. The Hands On: Crafts for Kids Project recognizes and celebrates the creativity of kids in all aspects of life. A portion of Hands On profits have been used to establish this Project which seeks ways to provide the opportunity for all kids to be exposed to creativity. One of the foundation's initial projects was to donate craft supplies to children at homeless shelters. Home Television Projects Book Order ... Philosophy

OUR PHILOSOPHY CASK, Creative Art Space for Kids, Inc. is a nonprofit, tax exempt arts education program for children and adolescents that develops self expression and confidence through the arts. Fostering imagination to generate creativity, CASK educates youth by developing and encouraging art as a positive vehicle for self expression.
A healthy imagination not only creates a resourceful and productive individual, but also builds self confidence, a significant factor which affects the individual's ability to learn in all areas of education and one that lasts for his or her entire life. When a child creates a work of art, they are not just drawing a picture, they are engaging in self expression and, moreover, the creation of self esteem and individuality. Founded by Artist Carlo Thertus, CASK has been serving the Long Island community with an artistic education center since 1996 and has developed a concrete, significantly positive relationship with the community at large, which has been notably reported in newspapers including the New York Times, Long Island Newsday, the Long Island Herald and Long Island's Channel 25 just to name a few.

http://www.waytogokids.com/philosophy/
Kids come in all shapes and sizes as do adults. A child's shape is determined by his parents but size is determined by the amount and kinds of food the child consumes each day. The emphasis in this program is to stop the weight gain while maintaining normal growth and development. Growing kids should not diet, but often consume more calories than the body needs. When indicated, weight loss in children should occur slowly. This program takes a balanced approach to eating. The focus is balancing calories for growth while reducing fat and sugar and increasing physical activity each day. Way To Go Kids can be used in Wellness or Fitness Centers, Health Education Programs, Hospital Programs, Recreation Programs, Schools and other facilities that are interested in the health of kids. The program is written to be taught by a Registered Dietitian (RD). It can also be used by the RD to implement private nutrition counseling with kids and their families. home philosophy authors classes ... contact

Kids 4 Truth, a Curriculum and Program As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving (Colossians 2:6-7)
PHILOSOPHY of Kids 4 Truth Curriculum
by Bob R. Roberts The Kids 4 Truth curriculum and program specifically targets 1st-6th grade children. Curriculum: The Kids 4 Truth curriculum , in a nutshell, is a beginner’s level systematic theology. Mission Statement of Kids 4 Truth Mission Statement: By godly men and women teaching basic systematic theology, we purpose to teach young believers what is correct doctrine, to persuade them why specific doctrines are correct, and to equip them to declare (Titus 2:1; I Peter 3:15) to others historic, authentic Christian truth in a clear, concise, memorable and passionate way. What is Systematic Theology?
  • “Theology” proper means the study of God. Since our sourcebook for finding out about God is the Bible, we may say theology is the study of the doctrines [teachings] of the Bible . “Christian doctrine is simply statements of the most fundamental beliefs that the Christian has, beliefs about the nature of God, about his action, about us who are His creatures, and about what He has done to bring us into relationship with Himself.”
