‘It remains for ever true that the proper study of mankind Is man; and even early man is not beneath contempt, especially when he proves to have had within him the makings of a great race, with its highest notions of duty and right, and all else that is noblest in the human soul.’
The Right Hon. Sir John Rhys. ‘There, neither turmoil nor silence …
‘Though fair the sight of Erin’s plains, hardly will they seem so after you have known the Great Plain...
‘A wonder of a land the land of which I speak; no youth there grows to old age....
‘We behold and are not beheld.’
—The God Midir, in Tochmarc Etaine. DURING the years 1907—9 this study first took shape, being then based mainly on literary sources; and during the latter year it was successfully presented to the Faculty of Letters of the University of Rennes, Brittany, for the Degree of Docteur-es-Lettres. Since then I have re-investigated the whole problem of the Celtic belief in Fairies, and have collected very much fresh material. Two years ago the scope of my original research was limited to the four chief Celtic countries, but now it includes all of the Celtic countries.

Beannacht, mo cara! Failte! What first started as a "little hobby" has grown into a huge book mark list on my browser. I have attempted to put these links into into only one group! IRISH LINKS! Because of my love of my Irish heritage, I am even being Auntie Mame to my nephew and we will travel this spring to experience Ireland. It seems to me that most people in America have just a "little Irish" in them somewhere and would like to learn just a bit more about the magical Island of Eire. I hope you will find these links a nice starting point for where ever your interests lie. The online catalogue locates the most important or representative of these archives and as well as indicating the ways they can best be exploited alos aims to identify those archival fonds in urgent need of conservation. IRELAND Centre for Cross Border Studies The Centre for Cross Border Studies, based in Armagh, Northern Ireland, was set up in September 1999 to research and develop co-operation across the Irish border in education, business, public administration, communications and a range of other practical areas. The Centre is a joint initiative by Queen's University Belfast, Dublin City University and the Workers' Educational Association (Northern Ireland). The web site provides information on research projects, news and events and links to primary documents .The Centre for Cross Border Studies is engaging in a mapping study of existing North-South co-operation in various key areas, including agriculture, tourism, education and training, the physical environment, energy, and technology and communications. As working documents become available in each of these areas they will be added to the CCBS website.
