The special needs covered include attention deficit, autism, deafness, visual impairment, brain injury and other health-related disabilities. In addition to background information on each of these disabilities, information is provided on adapting physical activities such as dance, aquatics, team sports, individual sports and winter sports to the student's special needs. A chapter on wheelchair sport is also included. Black-and-white photographs and drawings are used to illustrate some of the activities that have been adapted. An index is included.

Individual Assignment: Ask students to do a one-page report on a historical or current female figure and tell how she was or is influential on the role of women. 2. Class discussion: Basketball has been a male dominated sport with little opportunity got women to play professionally until the development of the WNBA. Ask students to discuss women's roles in sports. What other sports do women play professionally? Which sports are dominated by women? What do women think about women playing traditionally male sports such as football? 3. Class Assignment: Ask students to talk about their own aspiration for the future. Would they like to play professional sports? What other career plan do they have? Also, ask them to talk about what type of education they think they'll need in order to reach their goals. This can be done either in essay form or as a class discussion.

Projects: Since students were accustom to using Cruncher, rather than hand drawing charts and graphs for their science project, they opted to use Cruncher. Two students won awards for their projects, judgesÕ comments were positive regarding charts and graphs. Grades: Students have recorded their grades and use formulas to find their averages. Sports Fans: Students collect sports data from the newspaper. Depending on the level of student, this information can be used to compare wins and loses or averages of individual players of teams. Cooperative Learning Activities: The teacher can provide a situation or students brainstorm in pairs or small groups to come up with an idea for a survey. Birthday months, likes and dislikes, favorite pets or others are fair game. Data can be recorded and students can learn more about comparison of data through percentages. Further, Cruncher's graphing capability can be used. More: There are many more ideas that I plan to use Cruncher for, but they will be developed later (especially with newspapers).
