Garden Glove Doll
This is a great dollmaking craft from one of our craftzone members, Joan Mayo from Casa Grande, Arizona who gave us this great fabric craft idea on how to recycle those used gloves to make a treasured keepsake . She says, "I have been living in Casa Grande Arizona for 6 yrs. I am disabled and love to do crafts. My grandaughter Desirae is doing crafts and always wants me to send her something, so a friend found the garden glove doll and told me about it. When I went to visit the grandkids we made them. We made clowns, Firemen, train conductors, flower people and many more. Hope everyone enjoys the dolls." Fabric Fans
They are decorative and make terrific gifts. When you use scrapes of fabric reminiscent of your childhood (or your children's), the fans become keepsakes, reviving memories year after year. Stay cool with this fun and easy project! The Complete Book of Dollmaking:
A Practical Step-By-Step Guide to More Than 50 Traditional and Contemporary Techniques (Watson-Guptill Crafts)
by Pamela Peake
From simple cloth to elegant bisque, dolls of every description are embraced in this charming tribute to a cherished craft. After opening with an engaging history of dollmaking, this fine instructional reviews the full range of materials, equipment, and techniques used in making patterns, cutting, sewing, and stuffing dolls. The book shows a selection of traditional and modern dolls from around the world. 300 color illustrations.

I am thrilled with the overwhelmingly positive response from the dollmakers who have seen my videos, and I'd like to share some of the comments I've received. My first videos contain information you just won't find anywhere else, and I put it all together in a simple, easy to understand way that helps you get past all the technicalities and have fun making better, more realistic dolls. Just give them a try, and you'll see why CUSTOMIZING DOLL PATTERNS and MAKING FACES are your first steps in creating beautiful dolls. Happy dollmaking!
