Contact Us General Info Proof of Performance Sports Performance Plans U.S. Paralympics is developing performance plans for each of the 21 sports on the program of the Paralympic Games . In cooperation with 13 National Governing Bodies, all five Paralympic Community-Based Organizations and several external partners, U.S. Paralympics will execute these plans in 2002 and develop strategies for strengthening U.S. medal performance at the 2004 Athens Paralympic Games and beyond.
U.S. Paralympics performance plans focus on the training and coaching opportunities provided to Paralympic athletes by U.S. Paralympics and its partners. Specific competitions are identified as part of the plan to ensure U.S. team qualification for the Paralympic Games and to assess strengths and challenges in U.S. medal pursuits at the Paralympics.
Performance plans also define for athletes criteria for U.S. Paralympics support and procedures for the selection of U.S. teams to major international competitions. Philosophy
The mission of U.S. Paralympics is to support U.S. athletes and teams in manners that will maximize U.S. medal performances at the Paralympic Games. U.S. Paralympics teams will be composed of athletes who have demonstrated the greatest potential to medal at their respective world championships or future Paralympic Games.
