Resource Evaluation Here are five tools that I use in my classroom for technology. I have included a link to each (where applicable) and have described their strengths and weaknesses. Try them out!! Microsoft School Template - This is a FREE download from Microsoft that offers templates for everything that a teacher needs. The download takes little time and is very easy to install. It includes templates for the following Office programs: Word, Excel and PowerPoint. There are at least five templates available for each program. Included in the Word templates are a calendar wizard, disciplinary action form, medication authorization, and a field trip form. These forms are excellent and contain all the needed information. They can be filled out, saved as another name, and used over and over again. If a teacher doesn’t want to use a particular line in a form, that can also be deleted. In Excel, conversion tables, a grade book, graph paper and a substitute teacher form are all included. The conversion table provides conversion formulas for linear, area, liquid, dry, nautical, and temperature systems. For example, type in the temperature of fifty-three degrees Fahrenheit and the temperature in then converted to Celsius and Kelvin. The grade book is basic and does not allow for the weighting of scores. In PowerPoint, a teacher can find templates for a class welcome, seating chart and staff development. The seating chart allows for customization (desks, tables, circular), however it is very difficult to type in names over the objects. All in all, this package does over a basic starting point and would be very valuable for the first year teacher.

The last year of this century, 1999, has been a year that will be remembered for many troubles! Not only has there been so many natural disasters, but there is a moral rot that has set in all over the world, but especially in the west, that has our society crumbling at its very foundation. As we start into the new millennium, the hope of Jesus' return is more probable than ever because Jesus, speaking of current events such as the ones we face today said, "But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because, your redemption is drawing near" (Luke 21:28 (NAS). So, why is the return of Jesus such a great hope? Answer: The Bible promises that when Jesus returns to this earth, things on earth will greatly improve! Let's examine some of these great promises. Following Revelation 19 which describes the glorious return of Jesus Christ, Chapter 20 declares that Satan will be bound for 1,000 years. Can you imagine a world no longer influenced by Satan, a world that is no longer influenced by his dark, evil ways? News for the Smith College Community March 18, 1999 Galileo Project Gains Momentum Throughout the 1999-2000 academic year the Louise B. and Edmund J. Kahn Liberal Arts Institute will present a richly varied series of events inspired by the world, work and legacy of Galileo Galilei. The events will include symposia, guest lectures, stargazing sessions, a concert of period music and an exhibition of Galileo-related books and other artifacts, as well as performances of a new music-theater work on Galileo and his contemporaries Johannes Kepler and Tycho Brahe. All evidence suggests that these events will be as memorable as they are ambitious, and more may be offered, including some in Florence, Italy, in conjunction with Smith's Junior Year Abroad Program there. The series, the Kahn Institute's second project, is collectively titled Star Messenger: Galileo at the Millennium. According to Marjorie Senechal, Louise Wolff Kahn Professor of Mathematics and the institute's director, the project is being designed to advance all of the institute's key objectives: "to forge innovative links among departments, programs and divisions; encourage intensive collaborative research among junior faculty, senior faculty, students, visitors and alumnae; and enhance the intellectual life of the college and the larger community through symposia, performances, exhibitions and workshops." Star Messenger will far transcend the limits (and limited appeal) of the purely scientific, says one of its two chief organizers.

They call it an F-5 level tornado but the Bible calls it a "whirlwind" (cf. Job 40:1-6) and says, "the Lord has His way in the whirlwind and in the storm" (cf. Nahum 1:3). Pastor Tom Elliff of First Southern of Del City claimed the killer tornado was "not an act of God," opting to praise the outpouring of benevolence as the real "act of God." However, the Bible clearly claims that God reveals Himself in the storm which is an expression of His wrath, along with benevolent acts. We don't have to pick one attribute or another for God is displaying His Person in full glory through His works. The Bible teaches the storms are His acts of displeasure. Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth. There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it. He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet. The Critical Encyclopedia of Cybermedia will differ from a conventional encyclopedia in at least two important ways: First, it will be developed and presented online.
