To identify books, videos, and other formats on a research topic, consult an online catalog. Begin your search by scrolling down the page or by choosing academic libraries (includes CCU), public libraries unified lists , or other libraries and comprehensive lists. The CCU library strives to meet the academic needs of its students through its collection. To view the CCU Online Catalog from home, work, or any computer on the CCU campuses, choose Colorado Christian University Online Catalog under academic libraries from the list below. For items not held in its collection, CCU participates in the Interlibrary Loan network. Students can identify additional resources available locally, regionally, or nationally through the online catalogs of other libraries and may choose to request an Interlibrary Loan or visit another library. A typical library website lists its services, online catalog, and resources. Look for the online catalog hotlink. The catalog often has a special name, such as Skyline, Chinook, TIGER, SAGE, Peak, but it will be clearly indicated as the online catalog. One may wish to select a specific library that is convenient, try PROSPECTOR for a quick "in-one-spot" search of some major local libraries, or search FirstSearch to see which libraries across the U.S. might own an item.

Needs Assessment Colorado has only two federally recognized tribes within its borders; the Ute Mountain Ute and Southern Ute . Both tribal communities are located on the southern border of the state. Since there are only two tribes, the state coordinator chose to convene a committee comprised of tribal members and other individuals representative of libraries, archives, and museums to help guide the project. Subsequent site visits were conducted to meet key personnel in the tribal education, library and cultural programs. The face to face consultation and interaction was appreciated by the tribal representatives. The needs of the Colorado State Library in relation to the project were to increase the accessibility of material and information to the general public and link bibliographic information from outside sources to the tribal communities. State Conference The Colorado Collaborative American Indian Document Conference was held August 16 - 17 on the Southern Ute Reservation. Thirty-four

a project of the Colorado State Library and the Institute of Museum and Library Services
Agenda Participants Institution Description Wrap Up The Five State Institute of Museum Services Leadership Grant The Five State American Indian Leadership Grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services seeks to develop and strengthen collaborative relationships with American Indian tribal communities who are operating, or who have plans to operate a tribal library, museum, archive or tribal park located within the states of Nevada, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, and Arizona.. The grant provides for each state to assist with developing and/or refining needs assessments on the status of tribal libraries, museum, archives and the hosting of state conferences to bring together tribal representatives and non-tribal librarians, museum and archive personnel. This forum allows participants to discuss relevant issues and establish networks of communication for future collaborations. In Colorado this grant project is titled the Colorado Collaborative American Indian Project The Colorado Collaborative American Indian Project This project is about fostering cultural awareness and information exchange. During the past two years the results of this project are expanded awareness of libraries and museums in supporting collaborative projects with tribal members. We hosted a statewide conference in Ignacio, Colorado and attended a regional conference in Phoenix, Arizona, both conferences focusing on increased understanding of library and museum initiatives and collaboration. This year, March 13

Colorado Libraries Aid Flood-ravaged
CSU's Morgan Library; More Help Needed
Colorado State University's Morgan Library is beginning to dry out. Both the library's collection and the facility's basement, however, suffered extensive damage from the July flooding. Because of the library's recent renovation, much of its collection was in the basement during the flooding. The library's current journals were not affected because they are located on the library's upper floors, but according to information provided by the Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries, all bound periodicals were damaged, as were large sections of the monograph collection. An estimated 10 percent of CSU's collection has been destroyed, but the restoration company working with the university library staff believes it will be able to salvage 80 percent through freeze drying. Colorado libraries have jumped in to help. Ariel stations for ILL article delivery to CSU have been set up at the University of Northern Colorado, University of Colorado (Boulder and the Health Sciences in Denver), University of Wyoming and University of Denver. Free shuttle service for CSU students goes to several libraries. All Colorado libraries are providing CSU with ILL priority fill status and specialized reference services. Library vendors OCLC, IAC, The Uncover Company, Chadwyck-Healey, Johns Hopkins University Press and JSTOR are providing free subscriptions or access to databases. BCR is coordinating several proposals (not yet finalized) with OCLC for additional assistance.
