Presently, these programs include adult education centers in Cortez , Durango, Ignacio, Pagosa Springs, Delta, Montrose, Rifle, Glenwood Springs, and Craig. Technology in the Region Four Corners program leaders met on November 20, 1998 to articulate the following regional technology vision: The Four Corners adult education programs collaboratively offer adults relevant, accessible, and flexible instruction through technology, to help them cope with the technological, economic and social demands of their changing environment. In an effort to build an initial technology foundation in the region, adult ed programs jointly submitted a proposal to the then CDE/OAE, which was approved for $25,000.00. Those funds are presently being used to establish Internet connections, purchase computers, improve television reception, and buy materials to serve students through improved distance learning formats in each program area.

Sample Lesson Plans Developing guidance curriculum and classroom guidance activities can be the most challenging but rewarding part of implementing a comprehensive school counseling program. Not only are vital skills and benchmarks delivered to students, but counselors have the opportunity to further develop relationships with students in a classroom setting. Included are three lesson plans and materials for each level (elementary, middle school, high school); one lesson per content area (academic development, career development and personal/social development). These lesson plans were taken from the Missouri Comprehensive Guidance Kit , which corresponds with the Michigan Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling Program benchmarks. You may wish to utilize other Missouri materials as well as consult other resources listed on this Web site as you develop your own activities.
