Major site update on 01/11/2002. See what's new Hello and welcome to the internet's largest resource on James Stephens. I was first introduced to James Stephens by a friend of mine, Michael O'Reilly , who assured me that to read beautiful prose was to read James Stephens " Crock of Gold Unfortunately I was not able to acquire a copy earlier than 1953 so I opted for another of James Stephens novels titled "The Demi-Gods".  What a beautiful discovery it was , because from the onset of the first paragraph to the end of the last I was enthralled and forever surprised that one man could capture the beauty of the soul and what surrounds it so elegantly.   A man who could see the beauty that lies in the darkest clouds and the heaviest rain. There is lots of reading here and I hope that you get as much enjoyment from these pages as I did. Site search Web search powered by FreeFind paul@rothwell.net

There are lumps in it," said the Philosopher.
