5-0 out of 5 stars Great for the preschooler who loves franklin!
Perfect book to introduce the concept of school to a preschooler who likes to watch Franklin. Cute story!

5-0 out of 5 stars Tiff at GMS
The story was mainly told in the forest. The main characters in the story was Franklin. The minor characters were bear, rabbit, foxbeaver skunk. The theme was that this book would be that school is alot of fun and don't be afraid to go there. School is a good learning experience. The style would be that the author has a picture on every page and it has friends playing and having fun on every page.

5-0 out of 5 stars A VERY SWEET AND ENDEARING BOOK
FRANKLIN IS A CHARACTER THAT ANYONE REGARDLESS OF AGE CAN LOVE.IN FRANKLIN GOES TO SCHOOL HE HAS GREAT RESERVATIONS ABOUT THIS NEW EXPERIENCE AS DID WE ALL AND OVERCOMES THEM WITH THE HELP OF HIS FRIENDS.I WOULDRECOMEND ANY FRANKLIN BOOK.

5-0 out of 5 stars Franklin wins the hearts of children the very first time .
All of the Franklin books deal with something a child might face. They are written so it is easy for children to conect with their new found friend, and thats just what Franklin will become. I teach children and Franklin isthe most asked for of all the books we have. His stories are great andchildren learn from his experiences.

5-0 out of 5 stars Our 5 yr old loves the entire series. She reads them aloud.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cow Adventurer
Cappuccina is a spunky cow who longs to take a day off from the farm and visit the nearby town. While in town she tries to buy shoes, a dress and have her hair down.Since she is a cow, none of this works out for her. After a pleasant but tiring day, Cappuccina is glad to head back home with a bow on her tail.An upbeat picture book with great illustrations.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Children's Book
A beautifully written and illustrated children's book. I was lucky enough to meet Mary Ann Smith and witness a reading in front of a group of children whose imaginations were held captive by this lovely story and woman.
This is a book that should be part of every childs library. I look forward to the next adventure!

5-0 out of 5 stars The best children's book I've written to date.
Just want readers to know how much fun my mother and I had writing this book - and reading the manuscript to hundreds of elementary school children along the way. They get credit for letting us know how much fun it is for kids to chime in on the "Bloooooooos" in Cappuccina. And they get credit for giving us lots of ideas about where Cappuccina should go next!New York? The Army? The Moon?Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, fyi, Mary Ann Smith, my mother and co-author is NOT the Mary Ann Smith you have listed as author of other books you are recommending.Cappuccina is MY Mary Ann's first published work.

4-0 out of 5 stars cute book
Our six year old daughter loved this book.
Teaches you to be yourself--no matter what others think.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great
Franklin buys a new helmet that he just loves, but his friendsmake fun of that type of helmet. He feels embarrassed and hides it so that they will not know that he bought it. Later Rabbit shows and they make fun of her card in her bicycle wheels. He feels embarrassed. Finally Franklin overcomes his need to be cool and please his peers and wears the helmet. This book is great because it shows that kids they can be themselves and don't have to succumb to the "you have to do this or wear this or say this or be this in order to be cool or acceptable" pressure.

5-0 out of 5 stars What a lot of good messages in one small book!
This simple story touched on all aspects bicycle safety, enjoying what you think is "cool" instead of giving in to peer pressure, and much more. My 4 year old even remarked about Franklin's borrowed helmet not fitting correctly(something I am always mentioning to a neighbor's child).

This is a good one to have in your collection, especially if you child has even the slightest reluctance about wearing a helmet! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars thomas magnetic book
Excellent book for "quiet" play. I bought this book for my sons (ages 2 & 3) to play with during times we needed to play quietly. I keep it in the diaper bag to pull out at restaurants, doctors visits, church, etc. It is well made- thick magnets and pages. Very durable!

3-0 out of 5 stars Cute but small.
There are only a couple pages and it is smaller than I expected, but I'm sure my nephew will still love it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Attractive to Boys
My boy, who is almost 2.5 years old, is a Thomas fan.He was really thrilled when he received the book. The story is not very attractive and he did not ask for the story. The magnets are very attractive. He asked for the book from time to time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for my 2 yr old boy
This is a great and QUIET toy that keeps my son entertained for quite a while considering he is only 2 yrs old.He only gets to play with it on Sundays during church which helps the book keep its "novelty" and keeps my son from getting bored during the hour that he needs to sit still. We like it and highly recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Activity Book
We got this before a flight and it has been a great activity book for my 2 year old. He loves putting the magnets on the tracks and then saying 'goodnight' to them each evening as we put them back in the case. It's more activity than book. He loves it! Not a day goes by when we don't read it at least once. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Book, the blue ribbon helps
Good book for the age appropriate child. Our 3 1/2 year old is so pleased with the blue ribbon page mark. It helps her to learn where to stop and start, and not demand "more please!" at bedtime. The placing of the blue ribbon book mark makes it easier to dole out the delightful stories one at a time to stretch out the enjoyment and to make it last, just like a good book should. She gets to put the book mark in the pages after the story is read. The end...good night now... until tomorrow, and then, another train story.

2-0 out of 5 stars Be wary
My nephew loves Thomas the Train and I thought this would be a great gift. While the stories and pictures are great, I was surprised to see pages start falling out after opening it read some of the stories to my nephew. It may have just been my copy, but it was still embarrassing for my gift to fall apart from being opened.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book, Great Service
I ordered this book for my 3 year old grandson who lives for Thomas.I gave it to him for Easter and when they went to read it, one of the chapters near the back of the book was not bound in.I emailed Amazon, they immediately sent me a replacement and a label to return the defective one.Everything was taken care of in about 10 days.He loves listening to the stories in the book.It is one of his most favorite "reading" books, not just playing and pushing button books and hearing voices and music.Worth the money!

2-0 out of 5 stars Warning -- mutilated illustrations!And only 14 books
We had decided to buy this over the out-of-print Thomas collection because it was cheaper, new, and we could live with (though not happy with) things like "trucks" being changed to "freight cars" or "Fat Controller" being changed to "Sir Topham Hatt".

However, upon receiving the book we were very disappointed by two things and will be returning this book and buying a copy of the out-of-print collection (Thomas the Tank Engine: The Complete Collection).
1) This collection only has 14 of Rev. Awdrey's books. The OOP one has all 26.
2) More importantly, this book butchers many (most?) of the illustrations. Many illustrations are cropped to a zoomed-in circle focusing on the engine's face.Other illustrations have their borders cropped. In yet other cases, an engine is photoshopped out of the illustration and is just shown against the plain page instead of the original background. As we view the Thomas illustrations to be on a par of importance with the stories, this is a dealbreaker for us.

2-0 out of 5 stars Thomas collection more for parents than children
When I decided to purchase this product it was because my son was really into Thomas storyline. and this one seems to have all of them!!

The book covers pretty much all of the original episodes of Thomas and Friends. It is, however, not meant to be the 'bedtime story book' because
- book is just too big and heavy. it is impossible to hold up while lying down to read with your little ones.
- too many words, not enough pictures to tell the storyline. you would be lucky if you can read more than 3 pages of this thing before the little one's mind wonders away.
- pictures are too small and not colorful at all, and not enough of them. oh, have I said that already??

overall, you would be better off buying smaller books with lots of pictures (may be 1-2 episode books). Children likes repetitive story telling, and are not interested in hearing new stories every single night (at least my 4yr and 2yr are alike in this matter). They also like lots of pictures so that parents can show them what's happening in the story because their experiences in life in this world are much less than us. This book have none of these. ...
