Product Description
Four Days in November is anextraordinarily exciting, precise, and definitive narrative of the assassination of President John F.Kennedy on November 22, 1963,by Lee Harvey Oswald. It isdrawn from Reclaiming History: TheAssassination of President JohnF. Kennedy, ahuge andhistoric account of the event and allthe conspiracy theories it spawned, byVincent Bugliosi, famedprosecutor of Charles Manson andauthor of Helter Skelter. For generalreaders, the carefullydocumented account presented in Four Days is utterly persuasive:Oswald did it and he actedalone. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Well Done Summary of RECLAIMING HISTORY
Vincent Bugliosi's RECLAIMING HISTORY - the million and a half word tome on the assassination of JFK is probably the finest work of historical research that I have ever had the opportunity to encounter. But it is just that, a tome that is not easily carried around and read from cover to cover. In fact, I doubt if anyone has read it in its entirety. It is more of an encyclopedia that the reader uses as a source manual.

However, the condensation of that work, dealing with the the four days -Nov 22 - to Nov 26, 1964 - is extremely readable for both those like myself who remember the events and those who only know it as anhistorical event. I consider myself a serious JFK assasssination buff and I got a great deal out of the book and would recommend it highly.Like RECLAIMING HISTORY - it goes a long way to dismiss many of the conspiracy theories that still abound. The views of the author are fair and even handed to all sides and are supported by excellent footnotes and references to original source documnets.

5-0 out of 5 stars superb, but a re-print of the first part of "Reclaiming History"
See my review of Bugliosi's "Reclaiming History," of which this is the first part. Thus, you do not have to buy this book if you plan on buying "Reclaiming History" -- I did :>(

Neverthless, "Four Days in November" is superb, for all the reasons I set out in my review of "Reclaiming History."

4-0 out of 5 stars Just the facts ma'am.Kindle edition has limitations
I very much enjoyed this minute by minute account of the President John F. Kennedy's assassination in Dallas, Texas.Starting on the day of the shooting, Friday November 22, 1963 and ending after Lee Harvey Oswald's burial on Monday November 25.

The level of detail is quite amazing and gripping.Conspiracy theorists should note that this is just a factual recounting, based on published sources and twenty years of research and interviews by an experienced prosecutor.Theories are not debated in this book. For that, see Bugliosi's other book, "Reclaiming History".

While the narrative is well written, the Kindle edition has flaws. There is no chapter breakdown, which makes navigation difficult (particularly since in my case I was going between a Kindle 2 and the Kindle reader for Mac - they wouldn't stay in synch).

Photographs and diagrams referenced in the text are not present in the Kindle edition which can be frustrating.

The text is heavily sourced, and there are many footnotes which are handled well by the Kindle.

In add, a very good, if straight forward, read.

3-0 out of 5 stars No Photo Section in Kindle Edition?
Enjoyed the book very much, especially pleased with Mr. Bugliosi's writing style. I was a little surprised, though, to find that the entire photo section was omitted from my Kindle edition. It was a little frustrating to read a book that contains many references to photos and diagrams in a section that wasn't there. I called customer service and was told that perhaps the publisher wanted the photo section left out. He apologized and refunded my money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Deal With it Folks, Little Oswald Did It By Himself
For me, the most compelling reason to believe that there never was any conspiracy, apart from all the evidence pointing to Oswald, is that no one w/ direct knowledge of the conspiracy has ever come forward. In our society anybody with a juicy story to tell can make a fortune. This would be the most lucrative story in history.Do you really think that after all these years, someone with direct knowledge wouldn't have emerged?Every conspiracy book is based on speculation, mysterious associations, unusual sounds and images in the grassy knoll, etc. These authors have enriched themselves by chasing ghosts. It's been 46+ years since the event. If YOU knew about the conspiracy, wouldn't you have started blabbering by now? ... Product Description
In the short 1000 days of his Presidency, John F Kennedy accomplished more than most Presidents did in two full terms. He founded the Peace Corps and the Alliance for Progress, launched the American space program and introduced the Civil Rights Act, led the nation through the greatest threat ever to its existence -- the Cuban Missile Crisis -- and then signed the first nuclear disarmament agreement, the Test Ban Treaty, with the USSR. Kennedy was also a masterful and engaging speaker. This is an anthology of his most prominent speeches, including his Inaugural Address ("Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country"), his speech setting the goal of "before the end of this decade, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to earth", his speech in Berlin ("Ich bein ein Berliner"), and the text of the speech he was to deliver in Dallas on November 22, 1963. ... Throughout those eleven years, Sorensen knew kennedy the man, the Senator, the Candidate and the President as no other associate did. This is a low priced #1 National Bestseller in 1965 from $10.00 to $1.65 when this in paperback edition was sold.
