If BJP/RSS/VHP will try to fool indians by re-writing wrong history, they will have hard time to get elected and rule the india. There are people who will not accept it and challenge them in to the court. So much of Indian history has been and is influenced by Colonial stereotypes about the past, which have little to do with past reality and more to do with consideration of maintaining colonial rule. The Saffronists are propounding a very specific and particular interpretation of Indian histroy with their view of the Islamisation process in South Asia, the controversy over the Aryan Migration theory and the self-perception of Indic communities before the arrival of Islam and Colonialism. Much of this has clear instrumentalist uses in the present and are meant to facilitate certain patterns of inter-communal relationships and mobilisation. It remains to be seen how successful they will be as there are other competing interpretations and views, which are antagonistic to this approach.

These regional organizations helped regulate and supervise the safety of steam installations in the interest of public safety. The original TÜV association in Bavaria, founded over 127 years ago, had 43 industry members and employed just two safety inspectors. With the advancement of technology, its presence and capabilities quickly expanded. In the 1900's the group began working not only with electrically powered devices but also passenger elevators, diesel engines, sprinkler systems, and hydroelectric power plants. These inspection services further expanded into the transportation and motor vehicle industries and later to the nuclear energy industry. As late as the 1980's, the TÜV associations (TÜV Bayern being one of the largest) continued to operate independently in the federal states of Germany and their activities and name became synonymous with public safety, quality, and environmental protection. Deregulation, liberalization, and harmonization of trade practices in Europe in the late 1980's and early 1990's forced TÜV Bayern, whose activities were limited to Bavaria, to compete with other inspection agencies on both a national and international level. To meet this challenge, TÜV Bayern joined forces with other regional TÜV's: TÜV Hessen and TÜV Sachsen; establishing TÜV Bayern Holding AG a holding organization for technical safety services.

After a long and tiring search for some habitation, the hungry King came across an isolated hut. He knocked on the door and was warmly welcomed by a poor woman. The woman had nothing to offer the King except some boiled beans. The King sumptuously ate the humble meal and left the hut gratefully after a short rest. He later named the town that sprang up in the region 'Benda Kalooru' or town of boiled beans. The name changed as time went on and what we are presently left with is a corrupted version of the original, but a name that we Bangaloreans simply love. In the year 1537, Kempe Gowda designed the present day city. His son Kempe Gowda II built the famous towers at the four corners of the old city. In 1638, Shahaji Bhonsic, the father of Shivaji captured the City. In 1687 Aurargzeb's army captured the City and sold it to the Wodeyars for a paltry sum of 3 lakhs, three years later, the city is gifted to Wodeyar in 1759, he built the famous Lal Bagh, one of Bangalore's most beautifully laid out gardens.

In short, India has always been simply too big, too complicated, and too culturally subtle to let any one empire dominate it for long. True to the haphazard ambiance of the country, the discovery of India's most ancient civilization literally happened by accident. British engineers in the mid-1800's, busy constructing a railway line between Karachi and Punjab, found ancient, kiln-baked bricks along the path of the track. This discovery was treated at the time as little more than a curiosity, but archaeologists later revisited the site in the 1920's and determined that the bricks were over 5000 years old. Soon afterward, two important cities were discovered: Harappa on the Ravi river, and Mohenjodaro on the Indus. The civilization that laid the bricks, one of the world's oldest, was known as the Indus. They had a written language and were highly sophisticated. Dating back to 3000 BC, they originated in the south and moved north, building complex, mathematically-planned cities. Some of these towns were almost three miles in diameter and contained as many as 30,000 residents. These ancient municipalities had granaries, citadels, and even household toilets. In Mohenjodaro, a mile-long canal connected the city to the sea, and trading ships sailed as far as Mesopotamia. At its height, the Indus civilization extended over half a million square miles across the Indus river valley, and though it existed at the same time as the ancient civilizations of Egypt and Sumer, it far outlasted them.

India has a longstanding territorial dispute with Pakistan over the ownership of Kashmir, which has led to a tense relationship between the two countries since the partition of British India in 1947. After a large-scale mobilization of military forces along their border during most of 2002, tensions eased somewhat late in the year, and both sides have pulled back some of their forces from the border. India's rivalry with Pakistan has direct relevance to the country's energy sector, as it impedes plans for regional natural gas and/or oil pipelines (i.e., from Central Asia).
