Editorial Review

Product Description
Webster's bibliographic and event-based timelines are comprehensive in scope, covering virtually all topics, geographic locations and people. They do so from a linguistic point of view, and in the case of this book, the focus is on "Guam," including when used in literature (e.g. all authors that might have Guam in their name). As such, this book represents the largest compilation of timeline events associated with Guam when it is used in proper noun form. Webster's timelines cover bibliographic citations, patented inventions, as well as non-conventional and alternative meanings which capture ambiguities in usage. These furthermore cover all parts of speech (possessive, institutional usage, geographic usage) and contexts, including pop culture, the arts, social sciences (linguistics, history, geography, economics, sociology, political science), business, computer science, literature, law, medicine, psychology, mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology and other physical sciences. This "data dump" results in a comprehensive set of entries for a bibliographic and/or event-based timeline on the proper name Guam, since editorial decisions to include or exclude events is purely a linguistic process. The resulting entries are used under license or with permission, used under "fair use" conditions, used in agreement with the original authors, or are in the public domain. ... Read more

Product Description
The Izu-Bonin-Mariana (IBM) arc system is an outstanding example of a plate tectonic convergent boundary. IBM extends over 2800 km south from Tokyo, Japan, to beyond Guam, and includes the Izu Islands, Bonin Islands, and Mariana Islands; much more of the IBM arc system is submerged below sealevel. The IBM arc system lies along the eastern margin of the Philippine Sea Plate in the Western Pacific Ocean. It is most famous for being the site of the deepest gash in Earth's solid surface, the Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench. The IBM arc system formed as a result of subduction of the western Pacific plate. The IBM arc system now subducts mid-Jurassic to Early Cretaceous lithosphere, with younger lithosphere in the north and older lithosphere in the south, including the oldest (~170 million years old, or Ma) oceanic crust. Subduction rates vary from ~2 cm (1 inch) per year in the south to 6 cm (~2.5 inches) in the north. The IBM arc system is an excellent example of an intra-oceanic convergent margin (IOCM). ... Product Description
High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Yona is a village on the east coast of Guam. The village was historically a farming community and today is mostly residential. During World War II, the Japanese forced the indigenous Chamorros to march from camps in northern Guam to prison camps in the Maneng[g]on area in the Yona municipality shortly before the Americans liberated the island. Japanese tanks in the area near the Segua river serve as reminders of the war. Today, the Leo Palace Resort, with one of the island's most popular golf courses, is located in the Manengon Hills. The Leo Palace Resort is also used for association football. The municipality of Yona has an area of 20mi² (52 km²) and is located on the eastern side of Guam between Pago River and Togcha River. The village center is located above the cliffs between Pago Bay and Ylig Bay. Residential areas of Baza Gardens and Windward Hills are located to the south. ... Read more
